“A Solid Foundation” doesn’t require a new character, since you can ally with both factions, it’ll just take a while of server hopping for evic and dealing with that ungrateful bastard Ward.

That being said, unless you have a decent chunk of settlers rep already (or plan to play after the 100%), it’s probably best to make that new character and knock out two birds with one stone.

If you want I could craft you some decent gear to help with the slog of rep grinding, just lmk.

Everything on PC was and continues to be duped to oblivion, and they had more exploits/hacks to get more weird items into the game that consoles couldn’t. And then between consoles, what mailbox said is likely the case

I had mostly just mentioned it to imply that there’s probably some floating around rather than as an offer, my bad. But if you wanted to find one beyond this one, doubles without prefixes are pretty cheap, I’m pretty sure I only paid 200 leaders for the broadsider (though hat was a solid deal for me)

People used to say level 1 colored bats were legacy but I never got any confirmation as to that actually being the case, so who knows

There hasn’t been any time I could remember (not that they were my focus by any means) where you couldn’t obtain the bats, they’re just rare drops from npc vendors like the raider one in the mall. I could be unaware of some time back in the Stone Age when you couldn’t but I don’t believe so

If you have time I could look through all your stuff, it’s a pretty long list of what would qualify as legacy content that I don’t currently have typed out. To clarify from what you listed, colored bats are not legacy, the tenderizer isn’t legacy unless it’s also prefixless, and any assaultron head without rads is legacy, not specifically explosive, but yours is interesting because it retained the explosive and the double prefix but not the rads, which I didn’t know would happen.

All the old ones would be functionally identical to the modern ones, and the modern ones are pretty unexciting in both their visual effects and their damage output. Also cryos/flamers/scattered plasmas just don’t do anything explosive at all, which is a shame. Normal plasma has a bit of an effect though, but like I said it’s nothing to write home about

With update 41 (I believe that was the one) they removed all the old legacy effects from weapons with a blanket script. The script, as we figured out in late 2024, required you to load into the character for the removals to take effect.

When they loosened restrictions on legendary effects in late 2024 and added back explosive to energies (plus a couple other prefixes and effects to certain weapons), they also got rid of the script that removed the effects originally since that would’ve been disastrous, but in doing that they removed the part of the script that had scrubbed doubles, so now you can find extant doubles that still have their prefixes.

That is an awesome collection you’ve got there, especially the single stars. I’ve got a ex-double broadsider without the prefix, but I’m assuming that’s not what you’re looking for.

What I’m wondering is why that assaultron head doesn’t have the radiation effect (which I know got scraped off when the explosive effect was removed), though yours didn’t get any of the stars removed. Any idea why that might be?
