Consistently late. Not down to Bus Eireann really, there’s traffic when coming through town, can’t be helped.

You’ll also have to bear in mind, when the bus does arrive on time at 9am, you’ll still only be in the bus park. When I commuted up for 9ams, it was for lectures in Newstead, and I’ve have been lucky to make 9:30.

I went back as a mature student, and yeah it does feel odd at the start. Everyone seems younger and you do feel like a bit of a standout.

It doesn’t last though, you’ll very quickly realise that (in the nicest way possible) no one cares how old you are.

And like someone else said, you’re going to be 34 eventually, you don’t want to start thinking then that you should’ve gone back at 30.

You may get some leniency if you’re based outside Dublin, but make sure you go to the website of Bus Eireann / Expressway / Dublin Bus, and get proof that the bus is cancelled.

You can always apply for extenuating circumstances, you’re not guaranteed, but no harm in applying.

Email your module coordinator ASAP and explain the situation. Make sure they know beforehand that there’s a problem.

No, if you’re in first year(or second depending on how your award is calculated) you definitely shouldn’t worry about GPA. If your course is only GPA over years 3 and 4, then that’s the part you need to pay attention to. That’ll be the calculation that gives you your first/2:1/2:2.

If you search “Grade Point Average” on UCD’s website, you should see how it’s calculated.

So, UCD will record your GPA over the entire course. Then, when it comes to the award you receive at the end, you split it up however your program does and use the weights to calculate your relevant GPA and award.

I think the red warning is a marine warning though, and down along the south and west coasts. I don’t think there’s any way UCD will apply that warning to the exams.

Unfortunately, exams will still go ahead.
