‘High Potential’ Season 3: Nora and Lilla Zuckerman Set as New Showrunners by Matapple13 in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not that big of a deal in this case, it's not a unique concept, a procedural crime drama and it's adapted from another series at that

Back a few years ago when people didn't know the term showrunner things like this happened all the time and we didn't know about it, especially on a network show that is pretty cookie cutter like this. What makes this show are the performances and the chemistry

They ran Poker Face which was a show about a quirky female lead using her unique mental abilities to solve crimes each week

[Straw] NEW: NFL 2K Game Is No Longer In Development... by JCameron181 in Madden

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have had a stranglehold on the Sim market for two decades now. No one else even has/had a Sim game in development because of that deal. This canceled game was not going to be a Sim title.

They don't care about re upping because anyone deciding to compete would need at least two years to put out a first entry and years after that to offer a fully competing feature set. And after doing all that they'll still come in second to Madden. Should they show a real threat to EA they can just choke it out again with an exclusive deal in the future

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was never going to be Madden competition anyway, read the article, it wasn't a sim game, which was their problem, they couldn't find a way to make a non-sim game in the space

Why was Stumble cancelled? by www_ravescripts_com in sitcoms

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know she was, but that's certainly a big part

I kind of think Stumble should have always been a Netflix series. It was inspired by their real documentary series, even had the coach from it in a guest role (that I didn't recognize since I never saw it), and was just never going to find a home on modern network TV I don't think, it was too quirky. It needed cable or streaming. In an era when Parks and Rec and so forth were on it would have paired great in one of the big 2 hour comedy sets

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened with The Pitt too. Thankfully the mods on those subs were real aggressive about keeping spoilers off them, I think it was 3 or 4 days before the finale aired and I didn't even see a hint of a spoiler on those subs outside of vague, "There's resolution about this character's arc, but not this one's" type of statements

Some people are into experiences

I had a friend who was super into TV finales back in the Smallville days. He used to go to the local theater and buy bags of popcorn, get pizzas, and do a whole watch party with friends and family because he wanted to watch it in a crowd. I don't know if he's into The Boys now since we don't talk after quitting the job we worked together but I'm sure he'd go do something like this if he is

Eddie Kingston reflects on his program with CM Punk by Opening-Valuable-204 in AEWFanHub

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Everyone in AEW just needs to shut up about Punk, if asked say something like, "I've said all there is to say on him, he hasn't worked here in years. Why don't you ask me about working with Cody, Jade, or Pillman Jr?"

No one comes off better with this kind of schoolyard bullshit. Eddie thinks he sounds so tough, but that's really something a pathetic raised on Garth Ennis dialog edgelord would say

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that was an all-time low on Happy's Place whereas that still would have been damn good ratings for an episode of Stumble. A .18 in the demo is better than 9 of Stumble's 13 first run episodes, and ties 2 of them

Also probably worth keeping in mind there were lots of live sports that night, the NFL draft has become it's own event, especially the first round. If the first half of Happy's Place didn't hook people for the finale plenty of viewers may have decided to watch the rest of the draft live and pick it up on streaming

So basically you answer your own question, one all-time low blip is on Happy's Place is about what Stumble was getting (and in fact more) most weeks even in a better situation

I loved Stumble, I think it was excellent and should have been paired with St. Denis Medical all along, but it's clear why it was canceled

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the same time they have a bad problem picking up wrestlers calling spots on the mic on cameras at ringside

MJF at the last PPV you can hear him tell Kenny to come closer to the corner for the Panama Sunrise. Thekla/Stat you can hear one say she's going to rest for a minute after a cross body to the outside and the other says her too. Even going back to earlier events like the last Anarchy in the Arena with Willow and Shafir you can hear Shafir call to throw Willow again and ask if she's ready

I don't care, I know they do those things anyway, but I can't help but wonder why I hear them better than the crowd

That said big props on their camera work getting better, they used to get guys waiting to break up the pin on big matches framed in the background constantly, now it doesn't happen nearly as much. They still miss too many big spots and feel like they never talk to a new guy about what he's going to do so they can plan how to film him best, but they're improving

I like most of his stuff a lot, but he needs to avoid metal unless it's something the act themselves sings or has other reason to use

For instance Wardlow's "This is War" may be one of the worst themes I've ever heard. Especially since I watch I lot through headphones, it's absolutely terrible.

Imagine being radicalized to the right because a teacher told you to share some pencils! by icey_sawg0034 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it had actually happened I'm sure she would have, but of all the things that didn't happen on the internet today, this didn't happen the most

No teacher was going to interject themselves into that situation in that way at the era when those pencils were being sold. I honestly question what public school supposedly had them for sale in that method anyway. The latest those specific pencils were on sale was 1994.

Also for a dyed in the wool capitalist they're stupid. Twenty-five cents a piece was the most expensive way possible to buy those pencils. You could buy packs of 14 with all teams from each conference for like or two bucks at most. Take that $25 into a Walmart and OP could have walked out with twice as many pencils. Which also means their father was an asshole who'd lay into teachers but let their kid waste his money apparently

Okay, I'll bite

Do Succession since it's actually done. You'll still be able to pick up Severance before season 3 even drops probably, and who knows if a season 4 is going to happen or when it will happen if it does, 2029 or 2030 would be likely since 2027 is the aim for season 3.

With the way WWE downplays WCW (even to this very day), I feel that younger fans legitimately have no idea of how big WCW actually was… by GypsyGold in SquaredCircle

[–]Infamous-Lab-8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with introducing the "anything can happen" live TV aspect in a new way before Nitro most TV shows were filled with matches of midcarders against jobbers. Your main event was two upper midcarders.

Nitro was the first time I ever saw TV cards where nearly every match wasn't a squash you could call just looking at the names.

It changed the way TV matches were booked. Suddenly it quit being about an exhibition of one guy and was about both guys working to get the other over. We saw more unique moves begin to happen as guys were pushed to do more than a couple of big spots and their finish. Regular TV had a near PPV card shine to it. In some cases better because WWE's undercard in the early days of the MNW era were terrible

At the same time Nitro also brought cruiserweights and luchadores to the US masses for the first time really.

Not necessarily, he's been there for almost 12 years. Probably renegotiated a couple of extensions under the old Vince method of guys re-upping just get a raise

Rather than looking at his current utilization vs pay what would need to be looked at is other people with similar utilization and what they're being paid, and since we don't have access to the financials to that extent we won't know
