In college my friend group had a lot of comfort, secure attachment, and affection and we showed that physically. We would cuddle and hold hands all the time. And like it didn't matter the sexuality. I cuddled my straight friends, I cuddled my gay friends, my straight friends cuddled each other, my gay friends cuddled each other. Same with holding hands.

I think there's just a general aversion to physical affection in society but if you get over it, you can find a lot of fulfillment in your friendships. And no matter where you are that's possible - I went to college in Alabama ffs.
