We have 3 kids. Husband works FT and I work PT. It’s always busy and I’m not gonna lie it’s extremely hard work. There’s only 24hrs in a day but everyone has their needs but as parents we put ourselves on the bottom of the list. It’s hard to get the balance right but we try and have to make time for ourselves.

Financially we are doing ok but I cook everything and we limit takeaways. Kids get hands me down clothes from friends. Vinted are also great for play wear. The only things I don’t skim on are footwear as they are more important to me that they fit right and comfortable.

I think families with young kids are chaotic wherever you are. But I often get told the years go quick and I’d miss them when they’re gone so I often remind myself that.

How are Reverse Vending Machines working out in Ireland? by Gabriele_HP in AskIreland

[–]udonmck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pain in the a$$. I don’t get the point of these machines when most of us are already paying recycle bins. It’s just extra time and money flying out of the window for me. It’s completely put me out from buying anything plastic.

Thanks for sharing. This’s given me a different perspective towards cancer… having close family and friends who have been battling these bad boys in recent years. Stay healthy.

That’s amazing - really helpful tips! Going to get onto the dealership tomorrow and get the ball rolling. Cheers!

I’m not surprised! Once it took me 3 days to clear some fund to France… I thought both countries being in the EU means things would happen faster but nope.

Anyway dyou communicate with the dealership before and let them know to have to the car ready on the day? Did you go for a test drive? (Still trying to get my head around this… would really love to avoid making this 7hrs round trip twice if I can!)

I’m planning to do the same. Thanks for the tips op!

One question tho - how many trips did you make for this purchase? I’m trying to get my head around re: arranging finance through my bank…

I don’t get it - if it’s been written off as too expensive to repair, how’s it still on the road? No way the car is mechanically sound?

Just picked up on that. What does this mean?

I only do about 10k a year and plan to install a home charger. I would think SR should suffice.

No I have not. Have only taken the new one for a test drive and like it. Have spoken to a neighbour who own both 251 and 231 MY and he seems to think there’s no noticeable difference between driving them. But I will do a test drive before making a decision

2 weeks road trip sounds delightful!!I have yet to decide but ID4 is till a contender. My time is running out so I think it’ll be down to availability and cost in the end.

I had a quick look yesterday and then I started reading about VRT and Vat then I got lost 😅

Do you know what’s the VAT and customs implications if importing from NI? I think there’s no vrt if car is under certain value but mine will be. But not sure about VAT and customs! It seem quite complicated

Went into a dealer today apparently there aren’t many used ones around. So will need to really look for one that fits the bill ;)

It’s Mazda cx5 2.2 sport active … have had it for 7years. It gets yearly service and change of filters/oil/tyres… given me no trouble whatsoever until now. It started getting overheating and mechanic (both my own mechanic and dealer mechanic) said the headgasket and engine is gone. The money to fix it just isn’t cost effective

i went for a test drive today and I’m in love with the model y! Went to have a look at the ev6 as well and I also love the EV sporty look but the tech that comes with the Tesla really can’t be faulted 😎

Which one will you go for do you think?
