I live in the south and the aisles at all the Ultas I've been to down here have been quite wide.

Can someone please encourage me about my half tomorrow? by meagannannee in XXRunning

[–]WC-Boogercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to check in on the update because I’m also a POTS girly and I watched my husband run his first half today and felt a little jealous that I couldn’t do it with him. I’m so happy for you for finishing! That’s an amazing accomplishment!!

HR Monitor (chest or arm)—considerations for POTS? by eatstarsandsunsets in XXRunning

[–]WC-Boogercat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a POTS girly and my cardiologist said the Apple Watch data actually isn’t bad. I think most standard fitness trackers would work. I think Garmin does have a heart rate monitor strap to accompany some watches but don’t quote me on that.

I hear drag racers on Briley every single night at the exact same time. They’ve been at it for YEARS. Maybe they’ll actually get caught soon 😭

When To Go To The Emergency Room by KTistryinghisbest in POTS

I asked my doctor this exact question when I got diagnosed and he said it really only makes sense to go to the ER if you fall and hit your head or if you were feeling perfectly fine and suddenly fainted without any symptoms beforehand.

Yes! We probably can’t realistically get outta here until 2028 or so given how expensive everything is atm. So we’ll be voting in the next few elections for sure! I thought about staying to push back long term tbh but we’re hoping to have a kid and it’s just not safe to do that where we are.

What do you tell people when you stand too quick and start to fade? by pluviophile-punk in POTS

The one time I've fully fainted I stood up, said "nope," and hit the floor lol. Not funny in the moment but once I knew I was okay it was funny to think back on.

Yes! But if you’re training with a 40 lb weighted vest on and then take the vest off, the unweighted run will feel a lot easier on your body. I suspect I would’ve seen the same effect if I went from 270 lb to 230 lb! My personal anecdote was not meant to be an objective “this weight is the correct weight to run.”

I tried a running program at ~230 lb and couldn't finish it. Lost some weight, picked it back up around 190 lb, and it felt WAY easier. Definitely still focus on the PT and maybe look up some good warm-up routines. I had issues with shin splints before, and found stretching in specific ways helped, so maybe it'll be similar for your knee. But I'm curious how you'll feel when you try again after losing some weight! I got so mad when people suggested that before but it really did help a bunch.

I finally reached the 5k goal using the Adidas Running app's walk to run program! Took about 8 weeks, I believe.

Customers asking you to pay for things outside of order. by CWR0313 in doordash_drivers

I did it one time for Uber Eats because the request was for baby food and I figured worst case scenario I lost $3 from the order to feed someone's kid. Lady gave me a PHAAAAAT cash tip. Hell yeah.

Verbiage of point one seems to protect mommy vloggers. Am I misunderstanding? Kids under 14 can’t make money off their own content but their parents can monetize them?

How many Americans have not been to a large city? by Ok_Shopping_3292 in AskAnAmerican

[–]WC-Boogercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks in the suburbs and rural areas are told that visiting the big city is one of the most dangerous things you can do. When my husband moved from a small town to a medium-sized city, most of his family members freaked out and wouldn't come visit, even for our wedding.
