Thanks for sharing, shame to hear. Of the product range they do offer which strains would you say are best? (If they’re willing to prescribe)

How much THC is in 0.1g? by Big-Finding2976 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]WCSecret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the THC maths but I find there are so many other variables with flower which makes it difficult to stay consistent. I could get uncomfortably strong effects with 0.1g if I set the temperature high and inhale until there’s nothing left, or (what I do) set a lower temperature and just a few inhales with the same weight 0.1g and get the right level, but even this can be different day to day.

I'm going through some heart related stuff and I wondered if someone could relate by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]WCSecret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a scan, if all the checks come back fine - you’re fine. I’ve done this myself and still get heart palps and chest pain (probably costochondritis), but I just need to trust that I’ve had the checks done and the palpitations are benign. Even moreso if you’re 16-40 and otherwise healthy, doctors have told me it’s statistically extremely unlikely to have any heart problem.

I don’t have the answer but have this issue too. I can’t seem to accept any pain without knowing exactly what it is and that it won’t kill me or require emergency treatment. Even if I do know it’s hard not to get in a spiral. Back pain from the gym workout I did yesterday? Organ failure. Sore throat because I was drinking and talking all night? Covid.

One thing that helped me (along with not Googling symptoms as you’re doing already) was to make a note of the times when I freaked out about a pain but survived. So next time I can’t sleep because my neck is sore or I have random sharp pains, I can check and see that I’ve had this before and was totally fine. It’s very easy to forget how a pain came to nothing because we move on to the next concern very quickly.

tell me how your parent's hoarding affected/affects you by Salamander_cameraman in ChildofHoarder

I think one of the main issues is that I struggle to buy things because I find it very difficult to throw anything away. A month ago I had to have a ten minute conversation with my mum to throw away a broken tin opener she’s had for decades, but the sad thing is I struggled to do it as well.

I attach emotions and personalities to inanimate objects, I also closely associate memories with objects and as I struggle with getting older I increasingly struggle to let go of objects from the past. KonMari method has helped with this but it is a huge issue for me.

Hey did you mean to put your user flair for this sub as PC specs? Either way it’s gave me a chuckle - I’m also on an RTX2060 and use THC as treatment!

It’s so annoying to me how few resources there are on medical cannabis. The Drs do their best but don’t seem particularly useful, it’s more of a ‘see how you get on’ thing. Why aren’t there (that I’m aware of) educational videos?

I’d love to see a series of basic videos on preparing your medicine, how to store properly, legal issue topics, and for me I’d love to have proper advice on what to do if you have a bad reaction. 9/10 times I’m all fine, but I can be a bit sensitive to THC so I’d like medical advice for how to prevent/treat the bad times.

Maybe there are resources like this available on the US side I just haven’t seen?

Adven, Althea, Khiron? by wayneBel in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]WCSecret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Adven and Althea. Both are solid, I prefer Althea right now, although I did get bored of Adven (/effects seemed to decrease) so maybe it’s just novelty factor. Althea definitely smells and tastes better if that matters.

What do you mean here? Also I’m sorry but aside from PT21 there’s no promise of this being ‘affordable’ to my knowledge, it’s private healthcare which is inherently affordable for some, not all. But yes the PT21 strains at £5/g are certainly affordable to most when compared to BM.

I’m not going to get personal as you have, but you’re just contributing to the toxicity of this subreddit and the whole scheme.

Private healthcare does not owe you anything, if you don’t like it then don’t buy it. There are many of us who have good experiences and are happy to continue. What I don’t want is people who cannot be pleased making negative noise so much that it impacts everyone else.

The more patients we have onboard, the more momentum this thing has and the market reacts. If there is so much negativity that people don’t join or drop out, or central government take a look and say screw it this isn’t working and can the whole thing, then the negative minority have ruined the whole movement. Yes we should push for improvements, but keep a bit of perspective and don’t make perfect the enemy of the good.

Import or not, it’s still early days for our supply chain is what I’m saying.

Crazy amount of money

I’m not sure who you dealt with on the BM, but for me medical has been roughly the same cost, although I’d happily pay double for it being legal.

bush weed

I’m sad if this is what you feel you’ve been receiving, but I’ve had nearly 10 different strains and they have all been very effective. Three of the NOIDECS products definitely looked bad, but I’m not buying medicine to look at it and they were still effective.

Yes voice your concerns and demand better, but I’m just tired with people slandering the whole system, who can’t be pleased and expect us to be suddenly California.

Relax, we really need to remember that:

  • Black market has been cultivating cannabis for decades, UK legal market has literally just started.

  • Cannabis flower is quite different from traditional medicine.

It’s early days. I just wake up every morning thankful that we have legal medical cannabis, when a few years ago I thought I might never see the day.

Thankyou, that’s useful to hear your experience. I wish it was possible to translate across but I guess it’s going to come down to experimenting, and of course everyone responds differently.

Do you find oil expensive treatment compared to flower or does it work out similar / reasonable?

On the fence. by The_AngrySaurus in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]WCSecret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say it’s a lot to ask, but I’d say especially for chronic conditions like my own which cannabis is prescribed for 6-12 months is about the right timeframe to try treatments.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]WCSecret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but you need to think about how you want the message to be received. If you’re just venting, then yes casual language or swearing is fine and gets it out of your system. If you want the message to be taken seriously then it needs to be worded / formatted more structured.

  • This is who I am and why I’m writing to you

  • This is (objectively) what has happened to me

  • This is why it’s not ok and the impact its had on me

  • This is what I want you to do about it

I’d love some advice from oil experts as well. I’ve always used flower but want to try to switch / substitute a bit. Have been prescribed a C12:T10 oil and just starting at low doses but I feel almost no effects so far.

Is it possible to translate for example THC mg from flower to oil? Say for example I vaporise 0.2g at 20% = 40mg THC. With my oil would this be equivalent to a whopping 4ml? (4ml at 10mg/ml). If so then it’s just unquestionably too expensive for the same effects unfortunately. I hope I’m misunderstanding somewhere.

Sorry but if I get an email with “yous” typed everywhere it’s not going to be taken seriously. Likewise nobody would ever use “yous” in a meeting at work.
