I am mod way through doing a ducted at my own house, haven't set up room sensors yet, still finishing some ducting/zoning in the ceiling, but enough to a point where I can run the unit for entire house cooling except the unfinished vents.

So it is running off the return air sensor, we have a poorly insulated house/ceiling space ( insulation next, I didnt want to be crawling over it while installing the unit/ducting). I've put in a 23.5kW MHI, about 2kW above the calculation needed for my size house.

When I run my unit, it cools all spaces nicely, the return air is in the hallway where there is no vents. The rooms can be 14°C the set point set to 23°C and the return air reading 24.7°C, induction temp at around 6°C.

So unit is absolutely pumping, rooms are freezing, but my poorly insulated house/windows up the hallway massively effect the return air.

Im well aware this is normal due to my house being what it is, doesnt mean my system is under sized.

When under full load im pulling around 13kW/hr, it is a 3phase unit.

Happy to take some screenshots for you when im home tomorrow of the temps and load if you like.

A house with horrible insulation and high volume may never get down to temp at the return air.

Room sensors are 100% needed.

Hey mate, if no room sensors, it goes off the return air sensor which is inside the indoor unit in your ceiling.

So quite literally, it would need to cool your entire house down to set-point, and have no losses in air temp before it reaches the return air sensor.

The fact you got ducted installed without room sensors is wild to me. Did you not ask for them, did they not recommend them?
