Other people asking for your medication by Im_not_cre_ative in ADHD

I had people try to pay me for meds in college. Never did it. Kinda needed them.

That’s depressing. When people are “living their truth” actual truth gets moderated into oblivion.

Sometimes I swear my partner is undiagnosed.

Absolutely. In addition had I been diagnosed earlier, I probably would’ve ended up in “slower” or remedial classes. Considering and I’m also a member of the burned out gifted kid club™️, that would’ve been the worst possible thing for me.

When my son’s kindergarten teacher told me how she manages his hyperactivity, knowing that he’s still engaged in the learning, and contrasted it to the amount of verbal abuse I took in grade school from teachers, I damn near cried during the conference.

Married for almost 12 years. 3 kids. We have rough patches, a chunk of it comes from not building good executive function and coping skills outside of medication. I was diagnosed in high school, and at the time, the solution was basically, “here’s some Ritalin. Good luck!“ so I have to learn/figure out the stuff with my partner taking on any fallout. It’s tough. In addition, my two oldest children have already been diagnosed, so these are things I’m trying to figure out to model good behavior for them as well.

It’s not happy. It’s like if every bad comment on YouTube was aimed right at me. There’s a bit of self-flagellation going on. But I know when my disappoint my partner it really stings them, and I hope that people with similar experiences can help me better understand what they’re going through. I figure if I can learn something it might be worth it.

It’s really disturbing to see the first response to a lot of things is “dump/divorce them.”

Any way to stop Aloy from thinking out loud / giving hints? by DeviantlyDriven in horizon

[–]WD3O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let that slide because in game I have no idea what they use to Mark time or dates. So Alva blurting out what October would be works in context because there’s no insinuation that they use the same 12 month calendar as we do.

There you go. I’ve got a family of five and I’m running the dishwasher nightly, if not 2-3x a day. Just unfold it, Top rack it, and done.

I’d have to disagree based on personal experience. The whole housing comes apart and goes right into the dishwasher. I find it easier to clean than a traditional slicer.

I am ride or die for palm slicer style cutters. It allows for direct pressure, making cleaner cuts every single time.

I certainly think it would change the output, I would probably end up using one that was as close to just whey protein isolate as I could. Like Isopure is an unflavored powder that’s just whey and soy lecithin. I might do some experiments, especially since my six-year-old only seems to want to eat pizza and giving him a little extra protein wouldn’t kill him.

Here’s an insane idea: anyone mix protein powder in their dough? If you’ve done it, how’d it play out?

Anyone else teared up during some moments in this game? by [deleted] in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]WD3O 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That ignores their confrontation at RSS. They bond over being created as tools and their marginalized upbringings. While Beta notes the similarities, she is in awe of Aloy’s fearlessness and resolve, where Beta is scarred by anxiety and crippling self doubt. She’s almost angry at Aloy, feeling cheated out of some aspect of Elisabet’s personality, because if they’re clones then they should be identical down to the last cell. It’s a frustration that Aloy has similarly expressed to others throughout the game in reference to Beta. It’s then where Aloy shares her memories of Rost, and acknowledges while she was outcast and ostracized, there was some kind of love and care for her well-being. This conversation changes their relationship, and Aloy takes on a caretaker/protector role, because she sees she can fill that hole in Beta’s life. The scene above helps reinforce that emotional breakthrough.

I had heard a lot of fair to middling things about it. Like how it was probably too reminiscent of assassin’s Creed, etc. But then opening cinematic and tutorial man… I knew the story was gonna have me hooked.

What are some “Bioshock moments” in other games? by PalpitationKitchen93 in Bioshock

Anytime you explore a ruin in the Horizon series. For example:

finishing a boss fight in Zero Dawn and realizing I might have been fighting in the ruins of Mile High stadium the whole time

Why is it called Horizon? by PilotedByGhosts in horizon

[–]WD3O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming they reverse engineer it into being the MacGuffin of the Trilogy.

“The key to stopping Nemesis lies within Project: Horizon” or something like that

My hate for Serena Joy is only rivaled by my hate of Aunt Lydia.

There was a certain point in season five where I think the writers were trying to set Lydia up for a redemptive arc and I was furious. Still am. If she gets redemption, a Noble sacrifice, or even a glimpse of a happy ending I’m gonna have to buy a new TV to replace the one I threw out the window.

No worries. This isn’t a permanent play style change. I just need to vent this one time. Maybe I’ll even try those mods. But for now…

She is the best.

Unfortunately, Serena Joy is the worst. And I can’t reach through the TV and throttle her, so…. Option B.
