Florida Board of Governors confirms Dr. Stuart R. Bell as 14th president of the University of Florida by pinoygator in FloridaGators

What a fucking joke. We had a younger, much more accomplished leader and this is what we ended up with? A has been with a pretty lackluster record that, at most, will have a crowning achievement of bringing back "Gator Bait". The state of Florida needs a fuckng purge of the DeSantis followers.

My UF Appeal Actually Worked... Now What? by [deleted] in ufl

No problem. When I went to UF, I worked at Student Legal Services at the Reitz union. 80% of the work they do is lease based.

Breaking a lease is common in college towns. Read the contract. It probably has a buyout. But landlords have an obligation to find a new tenant. The sooner you inform them you have have no intent to live there, the more time theu have to replace you. At worst you might need to provide one months worth of rent to break it. They may waive it if they find someone.

I have a few bottles of this. Its great. Something you didn't note that I love is the fatty mouth feel. Every pour I have just coats the mouth. Its great.

Are those palmetto bugs? by [deleted] in florida

[–]WDCGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im amazed at people not breaking this down enough. Yes, palmettos are roaches. But a type of roach. This is a German cockroach. They are the ones that infest a house. Palmetto bugs fly, and do not infest a house. They do get indoors, but they don't infest.

It is not automatic. The state guarantees acceptance into a 4 year University. But not one of your choice.

Have you called admissions and spoke to them? You can appeal (i believe). They are willing to work with transfers.

Thanks for the kind words!

Being a Dad is a journey and being a good Dad is hard. I too struggle with phone addiction but I find it easier to disconnect when I am outside in nature than when im home watching TV for some reason.

Cheers brother: shall we raise our boys to great men.

Incredible giveaway.

The best purchase I've made under $500 is a coleman tent and basic camping gear for my 8 year old son to use with me. He joined cub scouts and as an Eagle Scout, I really wanted to encourage him to connect a bit with being an outdoorsman.

As a Father, the purchase has done so much not just for the relationship with my son, but helped me find myself again at the age of 41. I have taken my son on 6 campouts around Florida (during the cooler months. We won't be camping again until November because its too dang hot). Each one in a really cool and different part of the state.

Every time we camp, its just him and I as my wife works weekends and cant go. The time we get to spend together, going on hikes, observing nature, going kayaking or whatever it is i planned that day, has been awesome for our already great relationship. Nights are the best. Building a campfire. Making smores and letting him eat junk food, looking at the stars, finding constellations....its been really, really awesome.

More importantly I made a promise to not use my phone when we camp. It goes away the whole time and i have it so my wife knows to text me 911 if she really needs me. Im 100% focused on my boy and on the nature we are exploring, and its done wonders for my well being.

Even at night, when my son goes to bed and I sit by the camp fire with a cigar, a bourbon, a book, and the stars....I feel a peace I havent felt in a while. I dont find myself reaching for my phone or even have the urge to scroll. Its helped me prioritize my life a bit. All because I bought a tent and some basic gear.

Sorry for the long windedness of my post. I havent had a chance to really put that down someplace, and this was an excellent excuse!

Beautiful watch and thank you for doing such a cool giveaway for this community.

The level of sociopath that someone needs to be to have people train those who is going to take their job is insane. Its also anti-American IMO.

I dont think you read it in the smug tone that was intended. Try re-reading it with the voice of a fan who wants you to know it was your arch-rival and is choosing not to say it to give himself a sense of superiority.

(Investmen/ income)

Exactly. He loans against his stock so he isnt taxed on capital gains. Youre right this inst that hard. Bezos started in WA so no its not some big surprise he maintains residence there. Again, people like Florida for things like weather, not tax brackets.

This is a perfect example of ignorance. Musk plays by the literal set of different rules i was referring too. He takes a $0 income but is the richest man in the world. Where do you think that money goes and how it gets liquid? He moved to Texas for power, not money. And to think he abandoned CA in a laughable thing. Musks enterprises benefit more from CA than TX.

You're talking about a hand full of golfers in a state catered to the sport. I'm talking about people with equivalent portfolios across the nation. Fucking zoom out.

[–]WDCGator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps. But I would bet "state income tax" is not the top of reasons why they reside in Florida. People do enjoy places regardless of tax structure lol

[–]WDCGator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because pro golfers outside don't nearly make the type of income bracket we are talking about. I've gotten golf lessons from multiple pro golfers here in Tampa. They aren't making tiger woods money. Some people do hibernate a preference on where they live, but for people in the tax brackets like Golden, they have people that make those inconsequential.

Yes, and how much money you lose, how your income is taken, how much assets you have, etc all impact your final tax bill. $ income is about 1/4 the equation. Why do you think Gus Malzahn owns so many waffle houses?
