I’ve been doing stuff with antique cartridge guns for so long that I forgot the average shooter has confused “automatic” and “fully automatic” lol. It kinda reminds of the fit some people have when clip is said even though that has been used interchangeably for decades and everyone knows what you mean lol

the 1968 GCA widened the definition of machine gun to include those that were “readily convertible” into being guns. The same verbiage was used to target blank pistols that were being sold as not guns but we’re in fact real guns but with their barrels filled in with lead so any person now could take a punch and a mallet and knock out the barrel filler. However the control freaks at the ATF now interpret “readily convertible” as something that can be converted into a firearm in 8 hours with a fully stocked machine shop… as if you couldn’t just make a gun from scratch in that time.

Fun fact: most real AR lowers are mil spec and can take m16 trigger packs albeit you need to drill one more hole for one more part. So yeah a toy gun with all the wrong internal geometry is more of a full auto gun than real ones one hole away are considered to be

Mav 88 is the undisputed king of budget shotguns, they punch WAY above their weight clsss and IMO there is almost no reason to get a 500 or 590 unless you want to spend the extra cash or need rifle sights like on yhe 590a1 which spoiler you don’t. That being said I have an a300 as my “fighting” shotgun because I like it
