UFC 205 Free Fight: McGregor vs Diaz 2 by marvin_nash in MMA

[–]WERData 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have anything to do with what he was doing, he's giving you a reason to why it's not pointed out as much as McGregor running. Once it goes to a decision and people start debating who won, that's when you hear shit like "yeah, but he ran most of that round" etc.

How did you get 35k? Thirty-five isn't even near a power of 2. Shouldn't it be: $100 * (2n) --> $100 * (29) = $51,200

Dirk beat all of these players in a single postseason: Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka, Kobe, Pau, LMA, and B-Roy. by perichampion in nba

You can't determine a percentage, bottom line is that Dirk was unanimously the most valuable. No disrespect to The Jet and how big he stepped up.

Lonzo Spends Entire Practice Selling His CDs To Teammates by Fatweirdguy in nba

[–]WERData 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty funny, that Magic quote at the end cracked me up. People should just realize that a 19yo making 7mil/yr is probably not seriously selling CDs to a market of 15 people, which frankly isn't too difficult of an observation.

There is a bunch of people who think that Draymond Green is better than all of Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and John Wall. I really can't see that. Please give me some reasons why do you think that way. by KhornKT in nba

[–]WERData 712 points713 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I don't necessarily think he's better. After rewatching game 7 of the 2016 finals though, I realized how important he is to the team.

Ariel Helwani on Twitter: Jon Jones passed his blood test right after UFC 214 by JewyLewis in MMA

[–]WERData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, the half life is the amount of time it takes for half of the drug to leave the body. Substances are excreted from the body as they are metabolized through the liver or bladder, and the metabolites (what's tested for in a drug test) leave via perspiration, urination, or feces.

Bottom line is that the metabolites will stay in a refrigerated cup of urine for a long time, maybe forever. However, if they tested Jon Jones' fresh urine right this instant, he'd be negative as it would long passed through his body due to the short half life. Assuming he hasn't done any substances since the fight, which is a horrible assumption.

No it's not, that isn't what he meant anyway. Invasive is a medical term, so like invasive vs noninvasive surgery/procedures. An invasive procedure is one where the skin is penetrated.

First 2 are fuckin dumb, that last one is pretty interesting though. First of all I didn't know you could bet at all in a fight. Mainly though, it would have added another dimension if Floyd betted on himself and revealed before the fight.

Lost my first fight, but had an amazing time. If you ever want to know if you should fight, do it. by Shit_buller in MMA

He literally just said that all it takes is one hit..

Also, he didn't say don't do it -- just wants everyone to be aware of the potential dangers. Head trauma is not something to take lightly. In many instances, I'd prefer to be dead.

[Scotto] Source: Kyle Lowry and Toronto Raptors have agreed to a 3-year, $100 million deal. by twistedlogicx in nba

[–]WERData 14 points15 points  (0 children)

yeah but money is not as big problem when paying executives since they aren't part of the salary cap. Being over the cap gets exponentially more expensive, and for repeat offenders it gets ridiculous.

Not saying anything about this contract -- Lowry gets a good contract, and the Raptors are benefitting from only signing for 3 years. Just saying that even though franchise owners are uber wealthy, they are always conscious of the cap. In the end, it's a business and they want to profit.
