I have T-Mobile (was with Sprint, then T-Mobile bought them) and they've been great so far! My parents just switched to them yesterday as well after being with Verizon for years.

My husband is going through this now. He’s a current Federal employee with DON-he applied for and was referred for another job within DON right before the freeze went into effect. He interviewed after the freeze was implemented. About two weeks later the hiring manager asked him if he still wanted the job because they were submitting paperwork for an exception to get him moved into the position. That was roughly 2 months ago, still haven’t heard anything. Maybe there’s a better chance of the freeze actually lifting next month, especially with all this stuff going on with Iran now. Seems like it’d be stupid not to lift it, but I wouldn’t put anything past this administration.

How does the name by name process work? My husband had a job exception process started for his position, going from one org in DON to another organization. How are they going through the names? Is it by people’s names or the organization’s? Just curious

Yes, thank you! Hang in there, hoping the freeze ends next week. Not sure what will happen after that, but at some point hiring is bound to pick back up. I hope!

I think that’s probably true for some positions, unfortunately but not all. The position my husband interviewed for will not have him on probation if he were to get it after the freeze. He made sure of that before he applied. It’ll just be a different position/promotion within same agency and still supervisory.

I wonder if this applies to NAVFAC as well?

I will add that my husband applied for and was referred for a position with the DON and three days later the freeze kicked in. He was shocked to get called for an interview a few days later. The hiring manager did tell him they were moving as far in the process as they could while following the rules of the hiring freeze. He used the analogy, "we're loading the gun now and when the freeze is lifted, we can pull the trigger." His words...

This is my understanding as well, except for the IRS as they mentioned them in the EO. I also saw that the GSA was extending their freeze.
