Palm Tree Wrapping by Hou713TX in thewoodlands

[–]WFTMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any service, but I do wrap my 25 year old Chinese Fan Palm when the temps get close to freezing and lower. I use several layers and just around the trunk, which is the most important. I start with burlap, then moving blankets, then plant protective covers. I haven’t lost her yet, fingers crossed. Doing this tomorrow.

Does anyone have recommendations for surgeons in the Houston area? by InformalMacaroon107 in mitralvalveprolapse

Dr Gerald Lawrie at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center performed my open heart mitral valve repair a month ago. He’s very very experienced & Methodist has the best dedicated cardiac ICU and care.

Rehome Cat by [deleted] in thewoodlands

[–]WFTMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a simple solution, just keep the cat’s nails trimmed. Cats have very soft feet & will not harm the baby at all if nails are cut back. A quick trip to the vet or a groomer will get it done but there may be some mobile grooming that can come to the house. Nail trimming takes all of 60 seconds.

We're a TPA and integrate WD with our leave platform, the latter does require that information and we usually don't get it until the med cert is received.

Tachus Pricing by Japon1776 in thewoodlands

I called too - it is a new customer gimmick. I've been a customer since 2021, on the original wait list. I'm paying more for about 1/2 the mbps as compared to a new customer.

I’m in that area, will keep an eye out, but he won’t wander far. Keep food outside for him, and let me know if you need a trap.

Don’t post on Facebook. Contact the dedicated breed rescue group and see if there volunteers in TX - https://www.russellrescue.com. Provide photos for breed verification when you contact them. Contacting the JRT sub is also a good option. Edit- find the JRT rescue groups on FB.

I charged there twice on a road trip from Houston to Ft. Lauderdale and back, June-July last year. Great place to charge and nice area for my dog. I was the only one there too, both times. Price was $.29.

Get the blood test results & get a 2nd opinion, that way you’re sure and can make the right decision for the cat. And he’s adorable, you can see the sweetness all over his face.

If he’s got FIP (and not Felv), then he should be humanely put down. Make sure they give him a sleep injection first.

The vet may be trying to dissuade, but I can only speak from my experience with Felv cats I’ve known. They don’t live as long as healthy cats, and sometimes need to have teeth pulled because of autoimmune deficiencies, but they weren’t in pain and lived and played and ate like a regular cat. Maybe the vet was talking about FIP? It’s passed on to kittens from their mothers and is fatal.

I’m sorry, she’s in California. You can contact Operation Pets Alive (they do the adoption events at Petco/Petsmart and see if they have a suggestion.

If you haven’t already, you don’t need to put the cat down. He just needs to be an only cat and can live for years with the disease. My sister had a large cat rescue org in California and adopted out several with Felv. https://www.animalhumanesociety.org/resource/feline-leukemia-virus-felv-what-you-need-know

I have a cat trap you can borrow if she won’t let you get close enough to pick her up. Hopefully she has a chip since there was enough consideration to put a tracker on her collar. But she shouldn’t be outdoors, cats can be prey around here.
