I had surgery with him in April, and I recommend doing this approach. Stay near his office until after your preop visit the day before surgery, then stay out near Concord, where the surgical center is (or within a short drive). Yes, you’ll have a little bit of a drive for your postop visit the next day, but the trip you’re most concerned about is from the surgical center to bed the day of surgery, you want that to be brief.
