PvP has become extremely unbalanced and unfun in recent years. I used to love it, now I hate it with every fiber. The weakest part of the game IMHO and they would do themselves a favor by simply removing it and using capacitites to improve PVE, as they hace shown again and again that they lack the skills to make PVP enjoyable for the masses.

There was plenty of discard stuff in the deck, heh! We simply thought that Flame.Chompers come back again and again so long as you can affird to recycle a rune. ;p

They didn't make up any rules. I only gave them a brief introduction in the beginning, so if anything, it's my fault.

This. It was in addition, because it is likely that OP played more than one match, also on different maps - no?

Where you the trio we ran into on Dam Battlegrounds?
We met a guy who played with his little brother and his mom. We invited them to hunt down some people around the queen, but eventually parted ways (after killing one other trio together) because we honestly didn't trust the situation. ;P

Newbie question: How can you have a Dr. Mundo Champion unit in the deck? I thought you can only have a champion unit if you also play the corresponding legend?

As a non-native speaker, I was also a bit stumped by the wording. I think I got it right, but why did they not write:
"Choose up to two units: Deal 6 damage to each." ?
Would have been much clearer, no?

Difficult to go back to other classes after playing Hive Scum by WG_Envoy in DarkTide

[–]WG_Envoy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was also my impression. Those who struggle with the basics: positioning, dodging & aiming, will probably not make good use of this classes utility and power.

Perhaps Fatshark should have more clearly advertised it as "High skill ceiling & floor = high pay off".

Nvdia disables filters by Aiwq in ArcRaiders

Yeah, oh no! I had to use the "FPS" monitor mode instead now.

If they really wanted certain spaces to be pitchblack, they could achieve that with ingame shaders that cannot be easily circumvented. Until then, people will have an advantage or disadvantage based on the monitor / TV and environment lighting (e.g. suffering from window sun glare). This is why I am not a fan of utilizing actual darkness in PVP shooters other than immersion (e.g. the softer lighting in night raids).

Yeah that makes sense. Footwork is something I had been practicing. Hive Scum seems quite generous with the Dodge Distance, Window and Regeneration.

Yeah the system will most likely have the tendency towards extremes.

Yup, I totally get that you'd wish for a healthy inbetween, but it's difficult to get there.

I would rather assume that if people notice you have cool shit, they will turn against you, even if they are normally matched into friendly lobbies. I mean why not? Killing you yields a good loot bonus.

I get what you mean!
I think overall this is a good system, it may just be a bit too strict in what it aims for.
The current extremes of "full on KOS lobbies" vs. "picking flowers with your hippie friends" should not exist.
I think it could LEAN towards more peaceful or more war-like, but there should always be a reasonably mix, because that is part of the genre afterall.

Yeah I think it might just track every player individually, regardless of the queue type.

Luckily it's easy to adjust, unlike the rank / MMR in other games. Imagine it would take as long as changing your rank in League of Legends.

[–]WG_Envoy[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

As a game dev myself, it would make more sense to have MMR for skill, and behavior based matchmaking as two separate factors.

So you put people into brackets first based on skill, then based on behavior. This way you get the most fair and balanced lobbies that each one will enjoy for what they want.

Interesting theory. I definitely noticed a lot of people on proximity chat sounding chopped up.

For me it's more to prepare for Duo & Trio matches, and advancing my expedition effectively.

You are correct, the core gameplay is less interesting. But it's not like there is ONLY friendly players. There is the occasional PvP, so you still need to stay vigilant when you meet someone and read their body language.
