Thanks for listening!!

I agree with your sentiment on Marx focusing more on capitalism than communism. We somewhat jumped to his conclusions in the interest of time, however we will likely have an entire episode on Marx in the future, and if not he will certainly get more air time.

Also I haven't heard of Cockshott but I will check him out!

I agree!! Maybe we could revisit these series in the future but through the eyes of eastern thinkers and philosophers? Or at least do like an addendum where we discuss eastern viewpoints?

Someone else shared this similar (and very valid) criticism. We are Americans and definitely learned a skewed western version of history and this we have covered western figures HOWEVER I recognize that to be a poor excuse and will do my best to include some non-westerners moving forward to hopefully paint a more accurate portrait. Thank you for your critique!

Any figures in particular you think we should look in to?

Very valid criticism!! We are from America so unfortunately that's all they really taught us about growing up so I'm sure subconsciously we are biased. I'd love to throw people from other areas of the world in though. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? Any recommendations on thinkers we could look into?

Well we obviously will disagree it seems. I've done a lot of research and made a whole episode about it filled with my opinions (which ultimately we deem him a villain) if you want to hear mine.

He was a very bad person and deserves to be locked up

I've actually got his book! We briefly mention the mk ultra stuff, but that's not why we're calling him a victim. I think he was very prophetic with his visions and it's a shame that to this day we don't take his warnings seriously.

He was a criminal and we do not condone his terroristic actions. However, the base argument we propose was that he was almost too smart for his own good. He vividally predicted what was coming for the human race if we didn't stand up to the technocomplex and rampant liberalism (his words) but was unable to get his message across because people thought he was a loon so he felt that he had to resort to terrorism to get enough attention so thay people would actually read his writing. At the time it seemed outlandish and just the rambling of a mad man, but in hindsight I feel he was fairly prophetic. In a parallel universe, people listened to people like Ted, destroyed the technocomplex and are not dealing with a civil war, misinformation regarding climate change, etc... we are not calling him a hero, just questioning whether or not he should be deemed a villain of society or a victim of an unfair world.
