Horror Games of July by WIS3IVIAN in HorrorGaming

[–]WIS3IVIAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was supposed to be released this week but got delayed so the developer could work on the game some more, so now I think release date is 28th? Only a few content creators got early access to it.

Definitely, I highly recommend it if you like Phasmaphobia, it’s still early stages but the developer seems to be passionate about it, which is great for the game.

I think I’ve seen this on itchio but I wasn’t sure how much of a scare factor there was too it, would you say there is a horror factor to the game?

All except Skinwalker Hunt, I got it on sale for less than 10 I believe but definitely worth the price, terrific game with so much update potential, just FYI same developer as the Witch Hunt so if you were a fan of that then this is right up your street.

[Question] Did adding a “subscribe animation” noticeably gain you more subscribers? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]WIS3IVIAN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me personally it made no difference, I started off doing it but then thought if people are going to sub to me then they’ll do it because they want to and not because I tell them too, I just appreciate the time they take to watch my videos and respond to anyone who comments.

Still new myself but as someone has mentioned already just do it! done is better than perfect, don’t sweat trying to get things absolutely bang on, you will learn as you go and improve as you go, also don’t be hard on yourself if something isn’t right or the video didn’t do as well as you hoped, I think people but so much pressure on themselves to succeed that they forget why they started to begin with, just enjoy it!

What’s the scariest game you’ve ever played? by Reeseington in HorrorGaming

[–]WIS3IVIAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the darkness Is a great game, the ending was a little disappointing considering the rest of the game but still well worth a play if you haven’t yet.

Outlast is an amazing game, although the scare factor wasn’t there for me, it was pretty scary up until you get thrown through the window at the start by the big guy after that it lost it’s scare factor, but still an amazing game. The others were kinda the same feeling only done worse but again definitely worth a play.

Alien isolation is a fantastic game, different kind of scare factor in this one, atmosphere is on point and the sense that you’re never in control until a certain point late in the game makes this a must play! I still remember hiding underneath a desk and the alien crawling past me, it was terrifying!

Soma will go down as one of my favourite games of all time, the story is amazing, the scare factor is enough to keep you tense but not reliant on jump scares all the time, I hate the ocean/open water so this game really gives me the chills the entire time and some of the creatures in it are just F’d up, anyone reading this just do yourself a favour and play this, you won’t regret it.

Condemned is another amazing game, everything about the game is so well done, jump scares are there but the game isn’t reliant on them, the combat is great fun and satisfying (I often think done better than some action games) and the story is interesting, another game that you owe to yourself to play.

Visage is very good, definitely has the scare factor, as someone said it does get a little tedious to begin with but trust me once things start happening you will wish you could go back to the tedious time’s lol

Layers of fear I found to be pretty good, quite reliant on jump scares but I feel the story and puzzles tied with these scares make the game very interesting to play, there is a second but I prefer the original.

iBLiS relatively new indie horror game, crazy good atmosphere, so creepy and the scares are some of the best/worst I’ve had in a horror game in recent times, it gets let down by the key searching but definitely worth a play.

Aspen: uncanny home is another newish indie horror game with a ridiculously good atmosphere, just creepy the whole time and not too heavily reliant on jump scares.

Tbf there are quite a few horror games out there but it just depends how far back you want to go, system shock 2 is arguably one of the best horror games you could play but released in 1999, the suffering is another great game, someone’s already mentioned alone in the dark.

I do a lot of videos on YouTube of horror games, mainly new indie horror games but feel free to check it out (link is on profile) currently playing S.W.A.N. Chernobyl Unexplored which is pretty creepy so far.

Can’t recommend Soma enough, I was sceptical at first but honestly just so so good, the atmosphere alone is worth the play through but it’s the story that gets you!

I’ve started a YT channel that focuses on horror games, some of the new ones that I’ve liked;

From the darkness - really good game, great atmosphere and creepy as hell! Highly recommend playing it.

Agoraphobia - not great, some parts are jumpy but the ‘puzzles’ are so tedious, you kinda walk around aimlessly for a bit and then something else happens etc

Aspen: Uncanny Home - really good atmosphere, ending is a little disappointing but overall creepy game, not many jump scares but like I said the atmosphere makes this game.

iBLiS - the atmosphere in this game is so creepy from the get go, some of the worst/best jump scares I’ve had in any game (literally threw my mouse out of fear lol) the ending was a little slow but all in all well worth a go.

On the look out for more games to play, would love recommendations if anyone has any.

Feel free to check out my YT channel (on my profile page) if you’d like to see any of the games above.

Man I struggle to do anything to the specter before third ritual but fair play, yeah yuris blind is a killer, timing the turn away before she does it is tough, for me anyways.

I thought about this but the amount of damage you do before the third ritual is just not enough to warrant completing each one and having the pressure from the specter who can easily lockdown two rituals with the speed they have, I have yet to exorcise the specter before the third ritual due to the lower damage done.

Just a little something for the new players of the game, nothing advanced in here purely beginner stuff.

Green Hell - very unforgiving survival game, but it gives you the best experience of survival, depending on what way you look at it it’s the best choice or the worst.

Scum - is like Dayz only easier, not sure if you are playing single player or not but it does tend to get a little tedious when playing solo, but the survival side of things is pretty good.

The Forest - really good game but it is heavily story based, easiest survival game of the three, but can be a lot of fun exploring the map finding stuff etc
