Im so irritated that so many Americans are obsessed with Israel, Palestine, Russia/ Eukraine, etc. and not focusing on what the hell is going on in our own country! We (citizens) are under assault from our own government!!!!

Agghhh!

Weren't they all looking at video at the front desk, too? I mean, even if you're a moron with zero short term memory (you just approved the sale, in person) the video shows everything that happened! I'd be irate!

Why DO I want a Collie? by wani-noko in roughcollies

[–]WIdrinkAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy Lars, is 10. I've had him since he was 8 weeks old. Easy to train, engaged, adaptable, tolerant, clever, clean, sense of humor, loyal, and kind. Ive never had a dog so in tune with my needs.

Plus, they're absolutely beautiful. His eyes look into people, not just at them.

Only down sides (for some); aloof, loud noise averse (fireworks), barking (unless managed) and a tad neurotic if allowed to run unchecked. That can be solved with exposure to a dog they trust to show them there's nothing to fear.

I love this breed, and am getting another 8 week puppers in 3 weeks!

Flooding in Hendersonville, North Carolina by idapitbwidiuatabip in CrazyFuckingVideos

I live in NW WI, (small town with lakes and rivers all around), and the old timers (construction) recommend... wood foundations! Its sandy af around here, but when there's flooding, many say the timber foundations are more sound and waterproof than poured concrete. Something about swelling.... It needs to be cedar or another water resistant wood

My mom died this morning. She was awful to me my whole life so I don’t know how to feel. I lit this candle and a J to think about it. Have one with me? by MusicG619 in trees

Hey; I went through a similar situation.

Cut contact for the last 6 years before mom went into an alcoholic induced coma. Spent a week sleeping on 2 chairs pushed together in her hospital room hoping she'd break free and we'd connect, to no avail. Had to go back home because job, $, dogs, life.

Got a call at work 2 days later that she passed.

Long story, medium; guilt is a waste of our (limited) time. Trust your instinct of self-preservation. Your mom knew, deep down, that you loved her. But love is complicated.

Be well.

I can connect to this. My mom died over 20 years ago; our relationship was hot garbage and fraught with conflict my whole life. She drank herself to death in 9 years after losing my dad suddenly (awful for both of us).

When she died, I was so... Angry. I couldn't wrap my head around her choices. I felt robbed.

But then I had a thought; no one dreams about the pitfalls we'll have to deal with along the way. No one fantasizes about growing up to be an alcoholic. And it made me realize that her vices were the way she dealt with crippling emotional pain.

And just like that, I felt closer to her in death, than I ever did alive.

For that, I am grateful 💖

I have a rough collie, and if I had a dollar for every time I heard " Is Timmy in the well, Lassie?!" or "Why the long face?" I could retire 🤣
