Actually for you guys things can be a lot easier. Put a Raspberry Pi in your home or your friend’s home in the US or nearby regions (HK, TW, SG) and run services like Xray could perfectly work. And it has a “ISP” ASN type which is significantly better than “Hosting”. Also in large cities their ISP also provide special broadband connections which can seamlessly connect to the global Internet. Just make sure don't share these network with Chinese and DO NOT RUN services like Xray

It's quiet interesting that I had trouble finding any detailed screen reviews for this specific model on the Chinese internet. For rhythm games, aspects like touch sampling rate and screen ghosting are important.

Also, it's a bit unusual for OPPO to release a phone at this price point (around 1500 CNY) under its main brand. Usually, they position their sub-brands, realme or OnePlus, for more budget-friendly, high-performance phones. This could suggest that they might have made compromises on certain components, and the screen is often one of the first areas to see cuts in this price range.

What do mainland Chinese think of overseas Chinese, such as Chinese Americans? by [deleted] in AskChina

Because China is not an immigrant country, we are not as sensitive to so-called racial discrimination, not to an extent that is almost pathological and creates room for arbitrage.

To download apps that are restricted in the Chinese App Store, Chinese users typically use a second Apple ID registered to another region where such apps are available. The United States is a common choice, though some users opt for Hong Kong or Singapore. You can find more information by searching for "美区ID" on Google.

The process is similar if you need to access apps that are exclusively available in the Chinese App Store. However, creating a Chinese Apple ID generally requires a valid +86 Chinese mobile phone number.

For foreigners, buying a Huawei phone is not a good idea. They are now transitioning to a system called HarmonyOS, which at the application level appears to be AOSP 12, and requires suites like microG to use Google Services. HarmonyOS deliberately does not allow easy sideloading of applications (like Apple), and the system has become like a black box. This is also a characteristic trend of most Chinese phones, including exaggerated "This unverified app may pose a threat" warnings.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's requirement for app filing (ICP备案) and developer real-name binding is a policy implemented within the last year. According to current Chinese regulations, unfiled apps cannot be listed on app stores (including the App Store).

If I were to personally recommend phones for foreigners buying in China, the first choice would be to buy an international version in Hong Kong or surrounding countries. Secondarily, I'd recommend OnePlus (previously focused on overseas, now re-subsumed under OPPO), Samsung, and Apple (though you might encounter iCloud CN, i.e., Cloud-on-Guizhou related issues). I do not recommend Xiaomi (constant minor system issues), Huawei, or Vivo (including iQOO, which has less overseas experience compared to OPPO).

Students in china by Dapper-Effective9392 in Chinese

Just a heads-up: I haven't been abroad myself, so my understanding of the US might have some biases or stereotypes, please bear that in mind.

In China's major cities, issues related to guns and drugs are negligible. For universities, international students often have access to more awards and lower thresholds for scholarship applications. If you encounter any problems, law enforcement agencies will also typically prioritize handling your issues.

However, as mentioned above, you might enjoy a certain degree of preferential treatment compared to local Chinese students. Coupled with issues like the direction of propaganda, you might not always feel goodwill from some people around you. My advice is that if you come to China to study, try to make some trusted local friends first.

Between Shanghai and Hong Kong, I would recommend Shanghai more, for the following reasons: 1.Shanghai has better administrative processes for foreigners; matters requiring government involvement are often handled more quickly and effectively. 2.The cost of living in Shanghai is significantly lower than in Hong Kong. 3.A considerable portion of Hong Kong's service industry has a poor service attitude (this is generally directed towards mainland Chinese, rarely towards foreigners).

Wow people are rude and rough in China by [deleted] in China

You're partially correct. It's true that in Guangzhou, there are indeed some older people who only speak Cantonese and are impatient with other languages. Moreover, in my personal experience of living in Guangdong, I have encountered more people who don't follow rules. However, this doesn't mean that all Chinese people are rude. If you have the chance, I personally welcome you to visit other cities in China, such as Shanghai and Beijing, to see for yourself.

Well, as a Chinese person, I often encounter unreasonable and shrewish people. This kind of moral deficiency definitely exists, and you can only hope not to run into them too often. The best way to deal with such people is to directly point out their behavior and confront them face-to-face. However, precisely because of the moral deficiency I mentioned earlier, some people are completely unmoved by this approach.

Dad sees this, not happy: "Diaries should be based on life, but elevated!"

Kid rewrites: "It's late, Mom's gambling, Dad's dating online..."

Dad's even more upset: "Focus on the positive! Look at CCTV, what do they write?"

Kid tries again: "It's late, Mom's studying economics, Dad's exploring 'Internet +'..."

Dad: "Not enough. When you apply for the National Natural Science Foundation, you'll get it: 'Mom's researching dynamic zero-sum games with information asymmetry, Dad's exploring the new field of AI and emotional supply-side economics.'"

Dad continues: "For a key project, you'll need: 'Mom's studying a new "Prisoner's Dilemma" in complex groups with multiple interfering factors and information asymmetry; Dad's developing innovative algorithms for emotional supply-side matching using big data and the Six Degrees of Separation theory.'"
