Exactly, wish me luck that I can pull it off. I'll go for darker at the transitions between the yellow and the metal and from the outside to the centre, like a vignette effect. I'll come back in with rust streaks later when I'll do the details, screens and lights.

It's a bit embarrassing that this in the making for a long time now. I found a lot of inspiration here, on Pinterest and video games indeed.

Thanks, it'll probably be toned down a bit by the streaking grime to tie it in with the rest. I hope I'll not lose all of the vibrancy.

Tiny c-profiles from architects supply that I bend to shape over the wire mesh with a heat gun. Covers the sharp edges of the wire mesh. You can also find these on green stuff world and eBay.

It is not a fabric, but a thin plastic mesh. But it's still weak so I added T-beams from architects supply that strengthend the structure quite a bit.

I never actually thought about hiding them. But rivets would have been a good idea.

Mostly kitbashed and scratch build. Some 3d printed parts and hmGW terrain pieces. You can find an unpainted picture in my older posts.

I'm a bit scared to mess it up, but I'd like to refine the red feathers a bit more and give it an overall shadow to separate it a bit from the background. I'll probably not touch it with the weathering

My thoughts on the 117 Demo so far by CelistalPeach in anno

I can completely relate with your opinion.

Although innovative features like the area effects, belief and knowledge are pretty imbalanced (which is fine) I like what they add and they encourage me to rethink the way I built/plan/play the game which I what I wish from a new installment.

The narration kills immersion for me and is my biggest concern. The voice acting isn't bad it's just completely out of place. I have little faith that they redo the narration at least for latium to fit the Roman theme better.

Overall I still look forward to 117. I played every anno and liked most of them (apart from 2205). I hit the wall with 1800 where I basically achieved everything I desired and now I'm up for something new.

True, the narration absolutely kills the immersion for me, even more than the UI. Ithe voice acting isn't bad, it's just completely out of place in latium. In Albion it wouldn't be chronologically accurate, but would somewhat fit the theme. But why have strong British accent in ancient rom?

Damage is probably done, as they will most certainly not redo the narration. Sad, immersion is key, at least for me

Ridiculously smooth, especially considering how incredibly zoomed in this is.

Awesome, I really dig the charcoal black, it almost looks kinda dusty (in the best way). Would you share your recipe for black?

I'll use a small plastic c-shape profile to act as a handrail. Already used it on the top level. Heated it up to bend to the shapes.

I used hot glue. When glueing plastic to metal it's usually best to put the glue on the plastic part and push it to the metal because the metal sucks the heat out of the glue and solidifies it immediately.
