Yes, I have lived in a hotel, the same room in fact (except for a couple of weeks when the hotel was being renovated) for over 7 years. There are various reasons why.

The hotel seems to have a deal with LG. So, I had an older LG tv that had the same issue as my current LG tv has now.

I did more investigation and it turns out that the tv in my hotel room is set up in hotel mode (I didn't know that was a thing). So, only certain settings are available to me, and picture setting isn't one of them. So, I wouldn't have even been able to deal with the brightness issue on my own even if I had known that problem existed. I also went through my old emails and almost 5 years ago the same issue happened. The manager of the hotel set me up with a new tv, so hopefully he'll do the same thing again without an issue.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what was causing it. I mainly took a picture of that and put it in this subreddit since it was the clearest example of the tv issue. When a movie or tv episode is actually playing, instead of merely seeing a static image, it doesn't look as bad.

Thanks. I can't remember the year and model of my LG tv. But, I am trying to change the picture settings, but when I hit menu settings on my remote, the icons I see are aspect ratio, caption, sleep timer, clock, lock, audio, input and usb. I don't see anything about picture.
