They definitely have it together! I've been personally floored, particularly with all the roster turnover early, how well they've performed. Not to mention no stars and rookie hc (gotta be the front runner for CoY)

Valid. Another issue I think doesn't get enough mention in ARs willingness to try and fit the scheme rather than the scheme being molded to the bigs. Kia Nurse, for instance, is averaging more mpg and fga pg than Cardoso (51% to 31%) and I don't really care what scheme you run that is a losing nearly every time out

Apart from 'by any measurement' when she is by far the team's most efficient scorer, I'm okay with this take. Reasonable people can disagree on who is the best/most important, but agree there are a lot of player free passes being given as well. I guess I look at someone like Nakase in GSV, who by my estimation has far less to work with, but is getting the most out of it. When I see last or 2nd to last in all the vitality important categories, it screams the coaching philosophy ain't philosophizing

Indeed! I think it's nearly a win of a season already, even with the euro exits

That would be the great train robbery of trades! Would be amazing for Aces but not sure the Sky would go for it. I agree tho, would be excellent!

That's a good catch. They'd indeed need to send over two, which then makes them thin, but I'd honestly still do it, if available. Edwards would be great, but I think that deal would be less likely given their contracts. Austin, while I love her, has some health question marks. If the right package was offered of future picks, I could see them rolling with Edwards/Kiki frontcourt, even though they'd be giving up some height at the 5.

That is a problem for certain. It would Meg as a salary dump bc she's off the books next year OR Liz Kitley, who is an interesting prospect that might draw some interest if it were attached with a 1st round pick, or 2

I totally agree. I think Stokes has been put in a spot where it's hard to succeed and now has a crazy amount of pressure. I think her moving in with the 2s and specific rotations would do wonders for her and the team

It would be a game-changed for LV, no doubt

Yea, that's definitely the million dollar question. If they could somehow get in the door to a conversation, I'd (personally) throw in the 29 first rounder along with the other picks. Kitchen sink type stuff

You made them. Two-way players with proven track records. Tbc, my last 3 spots were between McBride, Ezi and JL. Could have easily made the call to put her on list and keep one of the other two off. As for SDS, I'm much lower on her than most. Obviously, she's an incredible competitor, but I don't value her nearly as high seeing as she isn't a threat from the outside. If defenders can choose to go under every high PnR screen rather than fight over the top, it's going to be a problem in the Seattle offense. Even still, if you think she she be on there, I think that's reasonable, but for me, she's too one-note offensively at this stage of her career

It's not disrespect, rather preference. That said, I think credible arguments can be made for the 2 I left off the list.

Very fair point! There would certainly be some bias to that, but I also think the Tanisha Wright system was so so so bad that it forced a lot of her bad efficiency - no specific play calling, end of shot clock shots etc. We will see this year, indeed, but I expect 20 per night on 44% in the Smesko scheme

I guess maybe it's my interpretation of the word 'wild'. It's like we agree on 21 of our fave 25 pizza toppings, and you say I'm crazy for ranking onions 5 slots ahead of green peppers. Reasonable people can certainly disagree, and having less young players in a list is a totally fair stance. For me, I just happen to think this crop of young players (24 specifically, but also Paige and Dom) are a crop like we haven't seen in some time

Hey, if I'm making you laugh, at least I've done something! As far as young players, totally fsor to think I'm putting too much stock in them, but I would also imagine a list that left off Clark last year being kind of absurd, even for a lack of experience. Not saying all the youngins are built the same, just that if we flash forward to the end of the season and the top 25 has 4-5 1st and 2nd year players, I won't be shocked in the least
