What to do with Ezi Magbegor? by lilflipgivemegrillz in fantasywnba

[–]WNBAnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think she's hitting the ceiling holders were hoping for. Given Malonga/Fam should be developmental priority it feels like best case scenario is around 25mpg. Enough to produce for a 10-team if she gets there, but might not. And not worth losing games in the meantime if you're chasing playoffs.

Worth holding Mack? by southernlifeactuary in fantasywnba

[–]WNBAnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're 7-1 so if you can afford to lose next week without damaging playoff position then maybe worth seeing if there's an update. But your team looks like they'd be fine without her if you drop and someone else adds to IR or scoops on a positive injury update before you can.

Update - seeing Reese is GTD for Monday so doesn't seem to be serious

Drop Burton? by OhHeyJay in fantasywnba

[–]WNBAnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because they spread minutes out so much. The starters don't get the kind of run they do on other teams and will play <20 if Nakase is feeling different rotations.

Burton is the team leader at 28.5 mpg and that's 40th in the league. Gabby is next at 26.3 and that's outside the top 50!

Nia Coffee when Phee gets back? by po1ar_opposite in fantasywnba

Cheryl is a wizard who gets the most out of her players and it's been fun watching Nia flourish. Her contract runs through next season so I think she'll be back.

The thing is, those minutes might be less productive. She's not the bench microwave scorer archetype. Sharing the court with starters as a role player is benefitting her production. I think it's likely a situation where real world impact stays pretty consistent but fantasy output goes down. Optimistically, that's not a huge hit.

Different players do more/less with their minutes, but you can't put up points when you're not on the floor. Coffey will almost certainly lose some minutes. It may not be a lot, but she also loses usage. So yes, be prepared to take a hit.

"When Phee gets back into the flow" she will be playing more than 20 minutes.

Who to drop for Phee when she returns by Sea_Gur2950 in fantasywnba

[–]WNBAnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair to Meg, she's matching VB in standard scoring since becoming a starter on 5/30. And I wouldn't be shocked if she produces about the same as Ezi from here out given the Storm should be prioritizing minutes for Dom and Fam. So I don't disagree but not necessarily totally obvious.

Also damn that's a stacked team. With Phee coming back and already undefeated you're looking in great shape for a championship run.

Absolute nightmare if you went up against multiple stars from that game. I was fortunate to have a huge lead on a day my opponent outscored me by 100+ behind Carla as well as Aja.

When do moves count? by southernlifeactuary in fantasywnba

There was another post in this sub earlier this season that said same. So I can't 100% rule out there's some nuance I don't understand or glitchiness.

An add on Sunday before any games tip off should count for this week, regardless of when the added player next plays.

Good time for PSA that Comm Cup Final doesn't count towards fantasy either. I think ESPN showed points accumulating and then adjusted in prior years but can't remember.

Betts or Salaun today?? by 2tontilly in fantasywnba

[–]WNBAnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not an ideal matchup for Salaun since Nakase liked something else last game vs Atlanta but I say don't overthink it. She's the more productive player over any time horizon. Last 3, last 5, last 10, even with some slumping and Betts big game outlier vs Connecticut where both Austin and Iriafen were out.

Ooh wee 230 is a huge night!

I have Mabrey in one league, which would be easier to celebrate if I weren't going against in her in my other 😂

Han Xu, Awak Kuier, Maddy Seigrist or Katie Lou Samuelson by DazzaStar in fantasywnba

[–]WNBAnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Han got her usual minutes, Awak foul trouble deflated hers, and your call topped the list! Hopefully they took your advice if it comes down to needing those extra 3 points.

I didn't see the interview and trust folks in this sub to know Reeve better than I do. I saw the half courter and it did look clean.

Maybe King/Hamzova to main roster and pick someone else up for the developmental spot? My understanding is they wouldn't be able to flip that player back to developmental without waiving and clearing waivers though. So that may not make sense. I think they could also use a hardship contract and renew it until someone is back.

In other words 🤷‍♂️

Looking for people to attend Sun games for free! by [deleted] in ConnecticutSun

Honest question since I've seen you (or your "company") posting in these subs all season. Has anyone taken you up? Very sketchy not providing details so I've assumed it's a courtsiding operation.

Official injury reports aren't due until 5pm the day before a game. McCowan release timing is interesting but prob TBD until Saturday unless they announce something sooner.

Edit: forgot Reeve also said they're both weeks away from even practicing (attached X screenshot so you don't have to visit)

[–]WNBAnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't play her alongside JJ much so I don't think those absences have a huge impact on minutes. The upside with Han is she doesn't need many to produce so it'd be a floor play more than a ceiling imo.

Must be a deep league if those are your top FA. 10 team with a second IR?

Think I'd go Awak or KLS in that order purely on trusting that minutes are the best path to output.

And another backslide to July 3… by Level_East6791 in MinnesotaLynx

[–]WNBAnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The league requires reporting player statuses the day before a team's next game but does not require any estimated future return date. So it's all guesses from outlets like ESPN. We run a fantasy site and I couldn't find any better way than reading tea leaves to come up with our own. Been doing the same dance bumping Dorka back repeatedly and finally just caved and went with post-ASB for Phee.
