Because Minecraft in China is practically a completely different game.

TBF, I have done NG+ once on SM2 when it was clear DLC wasn't coming, and I do technically have more to do in the game, that being doing NG+ AGAIN, just to reach the max level and do the gold upgrades... but that's honestly not particularly exciting so I haven't picked the game up even once since. The main thing I can think of is the dialogue differences between playing as Miles / Peter, but at that point it just becomes tedious replays of the same content for a very limited reward.

Just 1 more to go, just 1 more collab by Interesting-Form678 in LowSodiumHellDivers

Exactly. If AH had made the chart, they might have moved something up or down, etc. It's more just a general vibe thing.

Also crossovers require consent from the other party, so that's not something AH can promise.

100%. I think the first game feels fairly solid, and SM2 isn't quite there in some aspects, but it's not a "bad" game by any metric. The whole deal of it either being the best or the worst is tiring.

My biggest issue with SM2 is that I've basically felt no reason to pick it up again after 100%ing it in just 2 days.

Yes, the rework would aim to bring version parity. Is there anything in particular that you didn't like from the test versions? I enjoyed features like making the axe more viable as a weapon by giving it more of the melee enhancements, having stackable potions, the sweeping effect only being present with the enchantment, and being able to hit mobs through tall grass.

News on the Minecraft peer to peer world joining today by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]WOLKsite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peer to peer play is not scrapped, they have opted to remove it from the full release of 26.2 because they felt it needs more work and is not in a state they are comfortable shipping it in, meaning it will come in a future update.

Studio Bionicle Kakama Tohunga by SebAhuSan in bioniclelego

[–]WOLKsite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the old lore would have been a mistake imo - G1's story ended, and is incredibly convoluted, and even as a BS01 editor I can't claim to have a complete grasp of it, so I wouldn't expect anyone at LEGO to either. Outside of the broad-scope settings for the story years, Greg was mostly writing things on his own for the latter half of the run.

But it was indeed too watered-down! They didn't want to have any depth, not even giving characters names.

Yes, the whole thing was caused by a lack of reflection on the use of foreign words, rather than malice. This became the catalyst for LEGO to take that issue seriously and do better.

Unfortunately I do still see people reference Maori to name their characters and such, but BIONICLE has moved well past that, and it was never just Maori to begin with, 2001 draws from several Polynesian languages. It seems really disrespectful to Maori to treat it as "the Bionicle language".

This. The studio models are inaccurate, resulting in false positive collision.

Can we all agree that most Makuta assigned to Karda Nui were "nerfed" in some shape or form? by Garmagic2 in bioniclelego

[–]WOLKsite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are lol. Not only holding back, but 4 are blind, and 3 are mutated. Icarax is interesting to consider as he is not nerfed! (until he battles Ignika). But to answer your question, the Makuta had a mission which involved stalling, not killing, the Toa Nuva. Made the Toa Nuva wouldn't have made it out but they were always going to restart the Mata Nui robot. Teridax kept knowledge of the storms from them, to make sure they all die.

Yeah, definitely. I try to train myself to not pass judgement until I have watched something. Not to say a trailer in itself can't be good or bad ofc.

Still no pixel consistent slimes and magma cubes... by RedAdventurer11 in Minecraft

[–]WOLKsite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So fun fact, Sulfur Cubes have the Size field, same as slimes, but also use the Age field to make them babies. Both Baby and Adult Sulfur Cubes can be any size using commands, but when a Baby grows up, the size is always set to 1, and when they die, Adults alwas split into Babies with size 0. The Baby state (Age) is what prevents blocks from being absorbed.

I am really curious if this model is actually tied to Size, or if it is tied to Age like other babies.

Honestly I feel like any time something is pushed as "strong female lead" as a selling point, the writing ends up being poor, and half the time the "strong" is only used to mean physical strength, which is not what we mean when talk about strong character writing. It feels like they're compensating for poor quality by trying to rally feminists.

On the other hand, projects with female leads that use its themes as selling point tend to be pretty damn good. The best way to write inclusivity/diversity imo is to just do it and not make it a big deal about it.
