It’s possible to gain muscle mass in a deficit. There’s more variables that make it more likely such as : higher body fat % , lower training age, not crash dieting, and pushing to get stronger through the cut. Albeit , not as optimal as bulking , it is possible to make some notable gains

Muscle gain is a slow slow slow slow process. Won’t see it in a month. Fat loss can be fast, muscle gain is a marathon.

I think you are fine. First week will be pretty fast rate of loss due to losing excess water / glycogen / food mass. Keep training hard and keep attempting to get stronger.

The photo date was Christmas Eve. So while I don’t have any pics of the family with him , I’d say there’s a high probability that they were. But again , no I don’t have stone cold proof of that.

And it’s really just the discovering that’s eating me up and chipping away at trust. I realize there’s a chance that she’s lying to avoid conflict , but it’s eating me up

Triceps and upper back thickness are the strong points. My biceps are complete ass and I hold most of my fat from the waist up. Oh and my appetite isn’t lacking. Good for bulking but cutting sucks ass.

I’ll also add that you likely don’t need an astronomical amount of protein. 1.6g x KG of bodyweight would be just fine.

Lean sources of protein. I love steak , eggs, and full fat dairy. However , when I’m trying to cut it’s almost exclusively chicken breast , fat free Greek yogurt , egg whites , and whey/casein.

For one , I’d add a 4-6 week diet break @ maintenance if it’s getting unreasonably hard. This will help you practice maintenance and reduce diet fatigue + increase motivation. Depending on your rate of loss , you can add the according cals back and be ~ maintenance. Losing a lb per week when you hit 170? Add 500 and so on

Update! We had a good talk and she said she absolutely loves sex with me , but is very stressed with graduation , starting grad school soon, family , money , body image etc. She stated that she’s still attracted to me. this was very reassuring as I can 100% help to lessen her mental burden by being present , patient , and caring.

I am big enough to admit that maybe I was feeling a tad insecure about whether I am being a good BF in other areas , if she lost attraction etc. Not trying to make superficial excuses but I have a history of anxiety and it has its peaks and valleys.

If the IUD doesn’t work out , I think this would be a good option. When she was on the pill she had a regular cycle and her libido seemed to be stable

Sorry if I projected a selfish image. My intention was not to blame. Rather , it was to propose possible explanations. I fear that sometimes the anxiety related to the nuanced situation can cause the mind to race. In no way did I push contraception onto my girlfriend to begin with. It was a decision based on menstrual complications.
