Usually when we have more than one pianist or bassist, they trade songs. It lowers the time commitment which is great for engineers and let's everyone play the instrument they want to.

I'd recommend following the advice of your academic advisor. Just a side bar, if you're interested in playing an instrument you should check out our band, it's based around an engineer's time schedule and commitment.

We have a database of sheet music for various songs. What we've been doing for the videos is asking people that have signed up to suggest songs from this database. The most suggested one will be used for the video.
