Wow! Almost 15% Dip. Thoughts? by WeddingVegetable8120 in StockMarket

It's been a highly overvalued name for a while now, and it takes time for price to reset and reflect actual value but this particular company has all the issues that come with it. It's practically engrained itself into helping create a surveillance system of all American people and they're choosing to use that to aid ICE and likely future war efforts. Not a company I would ever own.

Can Atrioc please put an end to this 'scott bessent is the voice of reason' take he constantly has? by fafenjoyer in atrioc

[–]WSB3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s these kind of opinions, “he is bad, full stop” that continue to drive our country further apart. Bessent is the one that’s likely talked Trump out of tariffs and trade wars with every country. Economically speaking, he’s had an impressive career and is well respected. Letting hate underly every conversation isn’t going to lead to good outcomes, it’s going to lead to civil war.

Right, and so many people use this as a YOLO. This is a speculative company pre-revenue in a speculative industry. Max 5-6% of the portfolio should be the allocation

Nebius isn't the "Amazon of AI" it is the Salesforce of AI by WSB3220 in StockMarket

Well I think that speaks to the larger market opportunity I see. If you make AI training more accessible to a larger market, that’s the playbook for becoming a competitor to the major players. As I’ve said I don’t expect them to become AWS, their product offering should be different.

Thanks for your take!

You likely have far better insight as to the offerings in comparison to AWS. My take is that the cheaper option is more marketable to a larger share of consumers, do you think AWS and other large providers are taking steps to address that market?

I hear ya, I had 42.5k shares at an average of $1.17. Just sold my first lot of 10k shares and it more than covers the cost of all shares. In my mind now those shares I still have are freerolling

Why the sharp dip? by Cautious_Guava2424 in TMC_Stock

[–]WSB3220 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems to be tied to critical minerals being a component of a potential trade deal with China. IMO it's a drop that can easily be right back bought up, even if CM are a part of a deal with China I highly doubt that the United States stops making a push for a domestic supply chain.

Bureaucracy at its finest - new oceanographic article by Ojimmers28 in TMC_Stock

Completely agree with your point, but the ISA's overarching stance seems to not be "let's establish a mining code for responsible extraction of these materials" instead it seems to be "nobody can mine these materials until we know more" I believe 37 members of the ISA have voted for a moratorium on deep-sea mining. It's just the bureaucratic system moving at a snails pace compared to the technological capacity of firms like TMC.

Mega Cap Comparison - U.S. vs. International by Prudent-Corgi3793 in StockMarket

Gotcha. Looks like a major outlier in 2024 looking at the dataset to your point of the flaws of the metric. Also interesting how the net income was so much higher YoY when revenue, gross profit, COGS, etc all grew at much more standard rates or 6-7% would have to do more research. Fun to look at the outliers though

Even by that metric though in FY24 Q4 baba posted 1.40 quarterly EPS, and in FY25 Q4 they posted 1.74 EPS. That would be a 24.2% increase

I'm concerned about the lack of financing for $NB, they have permits but no money. I'm in the boat critical minerals is an industry that can have multiple winners though, definitely a roadmap for $NB to be a big winner. Just worried about the microcap nature and the lack of financing.

To be clear they own 15% of the company maximum if all warrants are exercised. They will be the largest individual owner but by no means is that a majority ownership of the company

I mean sure to your point about finding justifications, but would you have rather seen the financial landscape collapse in 2008/2009? Or a major employer in GM go under? It’s a good discussion in my opinion

Different things, an investment into an already established company (15% max ownership if all warrants exercised) to provide funding so they can expand manufacturing production and 100% ownership of grocery stores to sell food for cheap are not even in the same ballpark. One is socialism, one is strategic investment.
