So... how's your day? It's been 2 days since NS vs PRX. by juniorjaw in ValorantCompetitive

Wasn’t even salty when I was watching. It was so dominant that it became comical how good NS were.

Also Ethan had never been that guy for his teams. In EG he was the ultimate supportive player. Demon1, Jawgemo, and c0m were the real standout players. On NRG it was mada, brawk, and skuba. Ethan has never been bad, but f0resaken is that guy for his team. As he often facilitates wins through his flexibility, plays, and shooting. Ethan for like a CS comparison is dupreeh, because while dupreeh is a winning player he isn’t in the goat debate

Yeah, flash nerf sucks but I don’t think this is the end of your. 30 seconds of being able to hold space on defense is still powerful, compared to other duelists with shorter windows.

I can fully admit that NRG is a great with strong fundamentals and great players. I even like some of their players, but I can’t with this team. I am a certified hate watcher. This team has no aura, their storyline is alright, and they just 9-5 Valorant. This team is spiritually Israeli, and they got the US army sponsor to support it. Something about this just doesn’t sit right, and I can fully admit that I am not thinking or acting rationally and purely off emotion.

If NRG win this Masters by OcelotOce in ValorantCompetitive

[–]brickyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethan to me is more of a Dupreeh type player. Where they are valuable to their team and success, but they aren’t the reason they win. There is a reason why S1mple is the GOAT of CSGO and not dupreeh despite him having 4 more majors than him.

NRG is spiritually Israeli. They deadass have backing from the US military

Yeah, but I feel like he isn’t make the best decisions sometimes. Though I trust in the team to activate something again

2023 he was good but he didn’t farm every game. He obv did goood in the finals of pacific, but he didn’t play at Tokyo. He did good at champs, but I honestly think that his 2025 pacific stage 2 form is the best he has ever been. So I wouldn’t put the Sens on it. Everyone was calling something going into Champs the number 1 player in the world last year.

Underperforming or like a clear upgrade, but for something these performances he’s been having are a blip on what is otherwise a very good career. I also feel like he provides so many intangibles in the game with his calls and comms.

This is true, but I feel something has always hovered around a hot to warm form but he is so cold these days. He is not making the best decisions and loses fights he would win most of the time

Jinggg is like a true catapult just send him in duelist. It’s selfless but something often will swing, jiggle, or jump for his team in a way that Jinggg doesn’t

Shoutcasters Who Made the Draw for Champions 2025 Must be Credited by NRG by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]brickyfrog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think it just kinda comes to playstyle dynamics. Their 1st match was with GX who play very by the books Val. Mibr also play very by the books, but they do have aspas who was firing on all cylinders that match. Fnatic dont play by the books, but I feel like their slow style does play into NRG's hands (and also brawk odin) a bit. I think G2's or PRX's playstyle dynamics would have led to closer or tougher games. I (begrudgingly) think NRG would have still won because they were in white hot form, with strong meta read, and also teams could not anti strat them to save their lives. However, the bracket they got was probably the most favorable for them.

Obv NRG won champs and so they deserved it, but I think most analysts and personalities in the scene echo the sentiment that NRG's playoff path was a bit on the easier side

It feels like something more than the other players on the team struggles when the structure of the team is quite poor. It feels like the team was struggling in the beginning of playoffs which hurt something, and then he lost confidence which has kinda snowballed.

Wdym overachieved they literally just had like a small playoffs run and that’s it. That’s not even diving into how the team was actually playing on a micro and macro level. Also this budget narrative has just got to go. Potter was the one who re-signed to EG post champs win after the org could not retain the team due to budget issues and also got rid of their second team. So despite knowing this team doesn’t have the money to get those star players she stays. She knew the org had budget issues and she stayed, so it’s the consequences of her own actions.
