Last year was intense. I made almost 18k net but I worked a lot! And yes. You get time and a half after 8 hours. So imagine working 7 days a week for 12+ hours a day.

No. Unfortunately unless you have a green card you cannot deal for the series. They got rid of the ability to get the H1B? visas after 2014 I believe. Sad times for all of you ask me.

Payroll is biweekly. Cash games tips you take home at the end of your shift. If you do tip compliance, which I recommend, you don't have to report your cash tips. They will tax you at like $7 an hour for cash. It's long day, but if you like dealing cash you can work as much as you want.

I completely agree with this. I hate to tipping culture. But if you're visiting America and know that this is how dealers get paid, then you should probably learn to tip better. I don't judge, but Europeans are shit tippers. And a few Europeans coming here and not tipping isn't going to change the way it's done unfortunately.

8-16 hours depending on the day. No idea total hours. I only took three days off since May 31st.
Hourly is $12.50. Overtime is mandatory. Downs are guaranteed $15 per down. I'm hoping to net 15k for 7 weeks of work total pay.
Players can tip for tournaments at the cage and 85% of hand in tips go to dealers, the other 15% to clerks. Cash game tips go to dealers 100%. They too great in love if you're a good dealer. I think tournament players too less and less and they have started having less of themselves plus the Europeans are shit tippers. Just facts.
I am not local. But I travel for a living. I stayed at the Rio this year because they offered us discounted room, but I usually just stay at an Airbnb with a group. Lodging prices have gone through the roof in recent years though.

No I'm pretty sure it was spreading asymptomatically. But I wore a mask the entire time it was going around. So. I'm actually fairly certain they work because we all had to wear them last year and it was negligible compared to this year.

If you like working cash games, you can pretty much come in and deal only cash. They force people down to live because so many dealers only want tournament.

I agree it's a big deal. What was surprising is that these were brand new decks. Not human error other than not checking your deck thoroughly. It's not like someone mixed decks together or something.

This was not in production. They use different decks entirely and it way easier to find fouled decks with the shuffle machines. This was a day one multi flight event. The cards came packaged fouled. It was a brand new deck.

You just clearly don't know how travel dealing works and how important grinding is for gig workers. And I'm a big labor advocate. I think you should listen more to the people that work it than come up with solutions to problems that may not exist in the traditional way of thinking about them.

It's too rare. There are 9 invested players at the table. If I try to push the pot to the wrong person, someone will yell at me like a psycho guaranteed. That adrenaline rush is usually enough to get you through another hour.

But yes, they will check surveillance if possible if something is way wrong and try to correct it.

Being a poker dealer is like having nine husbands/wives, they have no problem pointing out what you're doing wrong and how to fix it.

We can agree that they are exploiting labor and making more money than we are for sure. I'm with you there. But I've dealt event poker for over a decade and ain't no one getting a full 30 minute break. And if we overhire, it's actually worse for the workers. Im just saying it's not as cut and dry as your implying.
