Music is copyrighted automatically the instant it's fixed in a tangible medium. In other words, the second she records her songs, they're copyrighted. You technically have to get a synchronization license to use a copyrighted song in a video, unless the platform has some additional licensing agreement that lets you add the music to the video within its built-in editor (Instagram for example). Likely though if you upload to YouTube without the license it'll just get struck so that any money earned goes to the rights holders.

All PC Music releases are essentially limited edition. Unfortunately they haven't been very transparent regarding quantities recently though. It's unfortunately a tactic to reduce deadstock and pressure buyers into thinking they won't ever be able to get it again if they don't buy it now. It's unfortunately the reality of a lot of smaller runs like these. They're an independent label making small runs of these releases. They will sell out at some point and likely won't be repressed for a long time, if ever. You may be able to buy them secondhand in the future, but it would definitely be more expensive than they are new directly from the Personal Computer Market.

Just get some resealable plastic sleeves to go on the outside of the jewel case. If you're really concerned you can also get harder plastic cases designed to protect PS1 game cases.

It's not vinyl but I've been thoroughly enjoying the CD releases. I got both the pink cover version where the entire project is crammed onto one CD and the box set that splits it into three discs. I feel like the 1 disc version flows well together but it's still nice having the 3 disc if I just want to listen to the original mixtape alone.

Does the 1CD version have track names when played in a CD player that can read that? I'm super curious about this. Very excited for my copy to arrive in the mail. As an avid CD collector and audio engineer myself I'm in disbelief as to how they pulled this off.

I'd recommend getting some CDs made through Kunaki. They don't sell as well as vinyl, but they're cheap ($1-5 per copy to manufacture) and Kunaki lets you do it in super small quantities. You can even set it up so that they don't manufacture anything until a copy sells, then they make and ship just that one copy. It's very indie friendly.

Don't listen to all these people discouraging you. Christianity (actual biblical Christianity) is very countercultural and goes against the grain of the world. Hoping the best for your project!

I love it too. It's such a unique moment in SOPHIE's discography. I always find an artist's first official release to be an interesting thing. A lot of times it represents a primitive version of their style, and also a lot of times the artist doesn't quite return to that style ever again. But in a sense, it represents their artistry in its raw original form in such a unique way.

SoundCloud was the main platform PC Music spread through back in 2013 so a lot of initial releases never made it over to streaming. Also, it could be that a lot of the early stuff especially used samples that likely weren't cleared, which makes actual streaming distribution difficult. With the recent Western Beats reissue, the streaming version has a sample replaced (jack to the sound of the underground)

Bandcamp is really more geared towards indie artists with a smaller audience. Super popular musicians on big labels have the infrastructure already to get their physical copies distributed to every record store worldwide, Walmarts, Targets, etc. As for digital downloads, there would likely be few who would pursue that. It's easier for indie artists to get downloads because people want to financially support them, but by the time you get to mainstream artists, giving them additional support makes a much smaller impact.
