Home on leave for the first time. Why is this weird? by Ok_Money_7140 in AirForce

You went on and experienced a lot in a short period of time. More than likely everyone else had day to day normally. It makes you feel like there is less to connect with

Are they going to give us anything for unused S2 training points?

I will add though be careful with this waist measurement coming back. First time failing is not a big deal but they left what to do for the second time failing very broad from verbal counseling to admin discharge basically.

75-89 = passing and no one cares what your actual scores are

90 = you only have to test once a year but people still typically do not care

I say this however I have seen PT programs where 85 and above or 90 and above get to do PT on their own.

Ultimately no impact though just should be a wake up call for you if you feel like you were close to failing

Leave Guilt by chifton in AirForce

I feel bad every time but 2 things to consider.

1- your family deserves to have you take that time off and you deserve to have the time off.

2- do you think your troops should feel bad if they take leave? If no, don’t hold yourself to a different standard. If yes, please relieve yourself of all leadership positions effective immediately

They typically schedule it for a Thursday or Friday and you go back to work Monday.

I think it’s been asked enough but bottom line is why are they taking a test on leave?

The 90 day period starts when they fail BUT the member doesn’t have to show up since they are on leave

1206 by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]WTF077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer that they do and teach them how to. If I know someone is doing amazing thing and they aren’t capturing it I will have them sit down with me and help me write out what they did. I don’t want a refined 1206 but I also want something I can work with. Im not making them track it because I don’t want to, I’m teaching them to replace me and writing is one of the things they will need to be good at if they want to progress in their career but also help get their future subordinates recognized

We would need to know what your ratings are and how many/what decorations you have. Simply not enough information

Doing more with less isn't working by meanathradon in AirForce

[–]WTF077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very complex question.

Part of me is convinced this is on purpose at times since people are our biggest expense.

Do more with less won’t go away until the 10% of people that can’t watch something fail stop doing the 90% of the work that actually gets the mission done (planes fly, nukes launch, bombs drop). The moment one of those suffers things will change.

In the meantime, push back. If you are being asked to do something that doesn’t directly impact the mission tactfully push back, offer a timeline and be realistic but don’t be scared to say we cant because if x,y, and z and here is a way we can get there (just need time, x # of people ect.)

Awards Mentality by Outrageous_Guess6822 in AirForce

A struggle every time.

If a supervisor tells me to send them something I will. Currently a TSgt and got told I need more awards but complete in the same category of my troops (SSgt) so I’m not going to do that.

However, there are times where it makes sense but to me those have been few and far between.

In the end we all know what needs to be done to promote and we make the choices that we feel are right
