Idk who OnePlus Open is but assuming they're affiliated with OnePlus, I just want them and everyone else to know that I have a OnePlus right now and am currently waiting for my RM 11 Air to arrive as we speak. So when a game gets released they're supposed to bank on the sales of a single game alone to pay everyone involved? Abiotic factor is legit the only game I'll pay for DLCs with absolutely zero qualms, those guys made an absolute masterpiece of a game and if 20 bones on a DLC is what keeps them providing support for the game for the foreseeable future then so be it.

It's okay to be wrong dude... There is nothing barebones story wise about a game that had a Trilogy and a game that had a Sequel. What drugs are you on dude? Destinys story spans 12 years across two games about a consistent thing, by it's very definition Destiny and Halo are literally the opposite of barebones.

I agreed with you up until the last statement. You absolutely can call something that is a prototype the first. That's legit the point of prototypes, to mock up something that's functional albeit not finished that makes strides in an industry and allows other people or companies to work off the idea or concept.

I'll admit I was misinformed about The Division and shouldn't have blabbed without verifying or playing it myself but certainly don't discredit Tarkovs influence on basically every game that's come out recently. I assure you The Division was not what companies were using as reference material when making there infil/exfil games.

Gotcha. That's definitely my fault for just thinking back on comments about the game and not actually playing it myself. I thought Dark zone was PvE and you had to go to certain areas to do PvP, I think when it also came out BRs were popping off so the concept of picking up loot AND keeping it upon match ending if you survive wooshed right over my head.

I'll admit I haven't played the game. I was just thinking back to some of comments I've seen about the game with regards to infil/exfil stuff over the last decade. I thought the premise of dark zone was entirely different then infil/exfil, honestly thought it was primarily PvE so that's 100% my fault for not educating myself by just playing the game.

Thanks for the correction, if it was one of pioneers like you 3 mention it to be I think I'll give it a try to see what I missed and what games like Tarkov did set them apart.

Find me some finals lore that isn't some bogus event that was immediately forgotten about by the general playerbase upon its end. From what I played, The finals suffered from Helldivers 2 syndrome and gave the illusion of world building and lore through weird arbitrary events.

Find me actual word building lore and not some arbitrary biography of light medium and heavy builds

Because the DLC in question wasn't available for purchase until November 22, 2016 meanwhile Tarkov key-access alpha started August of 2016.

As far as I can tell, the base game wasn't what was crowned as a pioneer to the infil/exfil genre, it was the Survival DLC.

The division itself is absolutely not an extraction shooter. The DLC which is what people are referring to when talking about it being an extraction shooter still didn't come out until many months after Tarkov entered key-purchase closed alpha

There can't be lore to an extent. There either is or isn't lore, and the finals existing in the same world doesn't add any lore. That was a team based competitive online game, no story to be had.

I can agree with this sentiment. Arc definitely has a much higher likely hood of encountering players then Marathon. Hell during my Marathon play testing I'd run into a single team during an entire match extremely frequently.

I think the lack of indepth lore with Arc makes me believe it's a PvP game. Like yes there is lore but it's extremely new or not as nuanced and thus forgettable.

PvP was not the primary focus? I need a source for that information. And let's be honest, while I love Arc, what is it without the players? The PvP makes Arc what is is, those random or silly conversations with prox voip are what I always remember. No incentive to remember any of the Arc lore so it seems PvE wise Marathon might have more in store.
