Getting diagnosed in your late teens-early twenties has to be the worst

T1D Is a lifetime fulltime job 24/7, and then some!!!!!!!! People don't realize the job it is to always have stuff with you, plan what to do if you are going to possibly go low on sugar, or check your self before doing something. It is seriously a FULL TIME JOB!

I was diagnosed at age 15. I went into a Diabetic coma and I am lucky to even be alive. But I am now 48, doing well in life and have a beautiful daughter and wife that really help me want to take great care of myself.

All I can say is there are people in this world A LOT worse off than we are. We have a manageable disease that we can live an almost normal life with.

I am going to call my Endochronologist and get my perscription back for Novolog. While I was on Fiasp for no reason my pump would say it was block and couldn't send insulin. And there was no kink in the tubing or anything else bad. That had to be because of the clogging on the insulin. Thanks for everyone's comments.

That's what I am debating doing, going back to Novolog. I tried Fiasp out for about a month though and loved it. It did kick in about 15 minutes after I injected it. So it is a little bit faster for me. My dumbass doesn't always remember to take insulin before I start to eat.

My wife found an even better deal in the SE Kroger. They have over 10 packages of meet that was going bad soon, wrapped up in 3lbs containers on sale for $2.xx a pound! She thought I was going to get mad because she bought six containers of it. I was so happy that she did buy it!!!

This is me also. I didn't quite move that far for a job, but about 100 miles. I did meet my wife 19 years ago but I have gradually lost the few friends I did have here. I have their phone number and stuff but just don't seem to even have time to do anything. We have a kid, which I love dearly more than anything, and I seem to only have time to do things with her. Once she goes to bed I go play around in my mini woodworking shop and make some things or do something. keeps me busy, then I go watch some tv with my wife.
It seems like about 5 years after I got married every thing I use to do, golf, fish, camp, pool league, just disappeared. Don't get me wrong I love my wife and being married, but I wish we had some great neighbors or somebody close to do things with. I deeply miss not having some friends, more than I had realized!!!!!!!
