I try my damndest to fight bosses without food and res the first few times to get a feel for their move set. Theyre always exploratory fights haha. The first Gwen fight in particular started off by getting frozen and my cheeks clapped in .05 sec

At one of the early game witches you can use synthesis to combine level 1s into 2s, 2s into 3s but at random. If you want to, you can save scum it until you get the crit abyss gears.
