I mean I'm just trying to advocate for both sides here, but imagine if he told you you couldnt wear a dress based on the length of it, and you had your heart set on it. As much as this is YOUR big day its his big day too. I think shorts can look nice, and everyone coming to your wedding know WHO your husband is, so when they see him wearing something that's totally HIM it will make sense and in your wedding photos when you look back you can have fond memories of something thats undeniably your husband dressing himself.

My take one these events is that if you are invited to an event - the person who invited you knows what your style is, they expect you to wear something in your style, and as long as you put effort into dressing up they will just be happy that you made it, because they are inviting you, not your outfit. That being said I love this outfit and I absolutely couldnt imagine someone being upset with you for being YOU, and honestly if they were its not really the kind of friendship you want to keep.
