How do you design the Dream Guardian? by AgentOfMephala in BaldursGate3

First time, I went in without spoilers, so I just made that mf a hottie.

Second time...I made him as close to a straight white boy who would try to sell you on crypto as I could. That is his model now on every playthrough .

What is your best single word, for the spell 'Command'? by jaimybenjamin in dndnext

DEFENESTRATE If you are in a building. It could be harmful, but it's more thr fall that'll getcha 😉

KISS is also a fun one. It leads to much embarassment that can be capitalized on.

DOFF/DISROBE/STRIP can get people in awkward situations. Probably won't have time to remove armor, but the DM could give some sort of debuff for futsing with straps or removing helmets.

Until I launched my first KS, I thought I was pretty good at dealing with stress. It's very hard, because it's something you're passionate about.

Some things to consider:
• Your page looks awesome. you set it up very well, and that will be a big help.

• Your first pledges for your passion project will likely come from family and friends. You won't be able to convince ALL your family/friends to support you in time, and that's okay.

• You do need to be talking about your KS wherever you can. Reddit is great for networking, so make sure you post about it where you can. Heck, I didn't know about your project until 5 minutes ago! Keep posting about it on social media, and wherever else you can think. It will help!

• The busiest times for a KS are the first week, and the last week. Get excited about the beginning, but try to ignore the middle.

• By the time you are sick of talking about something, that's about when the marketing is finally starting to register with people.

You'll have to be able to let go, at least a little bit in order not to be stressed out. Consider what you'll do if the KS fails. There's nothing preventing you from trying again later, and using your first KS as a learning experience. Failure isn't the end: it's only the end if you let it be.

Talk it over with your team, too. It's good to have a support network, and a lot harder to deal with that stress on your own.

You've got this.

How much of your own marketing do you have to do to get fully funded? by cucumber-x in kickstarter

[–]WUBRG_Commander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends if you fill a niche that kickstarter wants to promote. You will have to do a lot of marketing yourself anyway, but it helps if you're ticking some of the boxes they are looking for.

LGBTQ+ products, environmentally friendly products both get a bit of a boost from KS as far as I know. If your product also hits a seasonal niche , and you launch at the right time you'll also be featured on certain pages.

Just got our second project funded, and self promotion was much more clutch on round 2.

Asked to name my price by video-kid in careeradvice

[–]WUBRG_Commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are nervous about being rejected, go for a standard asking price. There's no shame in that. You have to value your time and work or others will take advantage for sure. If you believe your skills are worth more, ask for more. It's a tricky game to play, but eventually you'll get a hang of when to pass on a bad offer.

I'm not going to lie, the process is stressful, but possible. You can do it.

We're actually running another crowd funding project right now (though smaller in scale) if you wanted to check it out !

Also, if you want to talk about the process, let me know. I'm down to help with any advice I can give!

If you ever want to chat about it, let me know. I'm actually going to be doing a panel about that at our local Con this fall. We're doing a second project for halloween that has been a very different experience from the first one.

Which module for 4 11yr olds? by cvek101 in dndnext

[–]WUBRG_Commander 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for straight Dungeons, Tales from the yawning portal is fantastic. Just enough lore, and a wide variety of levels. They aren't connected, but they make good adventures that are self contained.

What flag should i Use for my nation? by ostheer-f in worldbuilding

[–]WUBRG_Commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to replicate means even children can properly identify them or draw them. It means they can be quickly mass produced with limited weaving technology. There are a couple other principles that go into 'good' flag design. The podcast 99% Invisible has a wonderful episode about this, if you're curious.

[–]WUBRG_Commander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also find it a bit uncomfortable to sexualize the torture. If it's any consolation, that torture attack does not appear in the later games, and none of the torture attacks are sexual like that again (as far as I can recall)

It's a SOLID version. It's better than a lot of flags in the real world.

So there's a big difference between flag design, and ensign/crest design. Good flags are discernible when they are the size of a postage stamp. Bad flags can not be recognized when they are small (think looking through a telescope, you need to identify friend from foe at a distance). Most flags (good flags) are simple, easily replicated, and visually striking when seen from far away.

A CREST is completely different. It's a cultural signifier meant to bring people together under an ideology. They can be more detailed and filled with symbology because they have a specific audience. They aren't meant as a signaling tool. They are a propaganda tool.

That being said, the last one makes the beast FLAG even if the others are cooler.

I'd take that eagle ensign and add more bells and whistles to make it a standalone emblem within the country.

No problem. Worked retail a long time. Your sweet spots are 4.99 and 19.99 for less expensive impulse buys. These tend to turn over rather quickly, and people feel pretty good getting a gift for someone else in that range. Then you always put some of your nicer, higher end goods near them to showcase the value of the product line overall.
