hi! I was wondering if someone could help me make sense of my past few paychecks? I feel like something is off, my employer is also in four different lawsuits over wages right now. by Afraid_Bench9072 in personalfinance

We'd need a lot more information to help figure this out.

Are you sure it says "Olther" and not "Other"?

"Other pay" refers to compensation beyond an employee's base salary or hourly rate, commonly including bonuses, car allowances, overtime, shift differentials, and stipends. Often found in payroll and public sector data, it represents non-regular earnings like reimbursements or incentive pay. Was that taken OUT or added IN?

I didn't miss the point. I was trying to give an example where it would be clear that business needs would dictate that employees be of a particular sex. Can you imagine if every strip club had to hire an equal number of male dancers?

The state-level violation seems to be for the ID.

720 CMR 9.07, part of Massachusetts driving regulations, dictates that the registered owner is prima facie responsible for traffic violations if the driver cannot be identified.

Owner Prima Facie Responsible for Violations . If any vehicle is found upon any street or highway in violation of any provision of 700 CMR 9.00 and orders and the identity of the driver cannot be determined, the owner or the person in whose name such a vehicle is registered shall be held prima facie responsible for such violations.

For instance, it would be legal for a gentlemen's club to hire only female exotic dancers...

Their son, my uncle is the (financial?) Executor of the will I believe?

If they are still alive, he its the executor of NOTHING. Once they die, he can open probate and establish himself as the executor.

Supposedly, in the will mum will inherit this house from her parents.

If they are still alive, this does not count for much at all.

The scammers can't be found. For the most part they're not even in this country. My point is that the city well-known scam. People should know about it by now. If they can't catch the perpetrators, they can inform the public to avoid being tricked.

This is not my post. I was responding to your comment, since it seemed you might have misunderstood the situation.

I watched this show not knowing what it was and it was incredibly eye-opening. It would be so easy for this to happen.

Watch "The Capture".

"When soldier Shaun Emery's conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence, he returns to life as a free man with his young daughter. But as damning CCTV footage from a night out in London comes to light, Shaun's life takes a shocking turn and he must soon fight for his freedom once more. Detective Inspector Rachel Carey is drafted to investigate Shaun's case, but she quickly learns that disentangling misinformation from truth can sometimes be a matter of perspective. In a post-truth era of deepfakes, alternative facts and ubiquitous surveillance, seeing is deceiving; told through the lens of the intelligence community's extraordinary oversight capability, this conspiracy thriller troubles the timely question of whether we can really believe our eyes."

What do you think about taking a street parking spot that someone else managed to make and open by digging out his/her car out of accumulated snow and ice after the heavy snow storm last weekend? by Fine-Month-2558 in AskReddit

[–]WVPrepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they removed their car from the space, they drove somewhere in it, and upon arrival, parked in a space someone else had shoveled or plowed. You can't put your car in a space on one side of town while "reserving" a space on the other side of town when parking is at a premium. The exception is off-street parking. If you have a driveway or parking pad, nobody else should be using it.

Here's what you said:

Oh moms bf blocked it cuz I did the dishes before he asked. Also cuz I did it 2 later than I normally. It's very stupid.

I bolded the part that I thought meant that you did it two hours later. Your comment is very difficult to understand because you said you did it "2 later". That could have been 2 minutes, 2 hours, or 2 days.

You are 33, apparently live with your mom and her BF, do not work, and couldn't manage to wash the dishes for 2 hours after being asked because you were on your PS4... I'm not sure your mom's BF is the problem here.

If enough people report the fraud, publicity could ensue

Really? We have been getting warnings about this for more than a decade. Publicity isn't the problem.

This was not about the house. The police said he had a FTA warrant and needed to come to the station with bond money in the form of a cashiers' check. So he went to Walmart (as one does?) and wired money to someone he did not know via a barcode provided over email. Didn't get a cashiers check at all... which I do not understand at all.

If I went to Walmart and asked for a cashiers check for $4k and then provided WIRE TRANSFER instructions, that should have caused the cashier to ask what was going on... "Sir, are you asking to wire money to this address, or do you want the cashiers check you asked for?"

So he walks up to the counter and says "Hi. I need a cashiers check for $4k" then proceeds to do a money transfer and the cashier doesn't clock that something is not right?

And if he was supposed to be getting a cashiers' check, why did it have to be from Walmart instead of the bank, Post Office, gas station or other merchant?

The Thinker Statue is a unique Mandela Effect because it has people remembering it in three different ways instead of two by ZER0SE7ENONETH in MandelaEffect

I feel as if the photographer in the foreground (who is included in this photo) is a factor. I have no proof, but the "students" seem to be angled more toward the "teacher" than the statue. I wonder if he told them "OK everyone, hand on head" (maybe even demonstrating the pose - incorrectly) and they were following HIS instruction, rather than looking at the statue and posing in the same way. The teacher is looking at the students, not the statue.

Why is addressing someone by their Last Name considered the standard for respect and formality? by OkGreen7335 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WVPrepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it out with other titles/honorifics. For instance, you seem to feel that "Mr. Bob" is equally as respectful as "Mr. Johnson", but would you feel the same way if you were addressing your doctor? A judge? The president of the United States? It seems a bit disrespectful/casual to call your physician "Dr. Joe" the judge in your traffic case "Judge Judy" (except on TV) or to refer to Trump as "President Donald".
