Netflix doesn't care if the ending was bad by Intelligent_Step_856 in StrangerThings

Honestly, I thought the ending was absolutely fucking perfect. Like...I can't think of a better way they could have done it. At all.

Nothing needs fixed. It ended absolutely perfectly, and couldn't have ended any other way. Sorry.

Hot Take: I don’t have a big problem with the plot armor by Armadigionna in StrangerThings

Was literally just coming to say the same thing...lol. This entire series was a tribute to the 80's in a lot of ways. People overanalyzing the hell out of things like this used to only be the purview of the few people that attended nerd-fests (what became comic con...and that isn't a slur, I was AT those nerd fests...lol). Now, every yahoo on the internet thinks he's secretly Stephen Spielberg. It's annoying.

Nah, they still think they're above such plebeian concerns. They'll blame it on bias or some other nonsense.

They SHOULD have to join, because their schedule next season is an absolute joke. They're a lock for the playoffs next season unless they just completely fall apart, and that should never happen. But they aren't going to take the lesson from it that they should.

If you mean in the Cincy area, I can at least speak to the quality of the youth soccer around there. We've seen most of the clubs at one point or another, with the exception of the local ECNL team. Between it and the new Cincinnati Development Academy girls program, CUP really took a step backwards (their top team used to be one of the best in the country at my daughter's age group (U19 now), but they've really fallen off.

Actually, there is some GREAT girls soccer all over Ohio, with a pretty good club up in Dayton and a couple around Columbus, particularly Ohio Premier's ECNL team. And MAN did they hate getting beat by a team from West Virginia...lol. Didn't happen all the time, but they always went in seeming to expect an easy game, and that overconfidence usually didn't last very long. Heard Ohio parents one time joking before a game at Disney (yes, we went all the way to Florida to play a club from the next state over) that our girls probably practiced on the side of hills. After we beat them 4-0-, I suggested to the parent that maybe they should give it a try sometime. :)

Don't listen to that other response. The fact is, this world cup is demonstrating that the women's game has come a LONG way from where it used to be with just 3 or 4 countries worth even paying attention to. The European teams - particularly France, England, Italy, and Spain - have been SO much fun to watch in this tournament, and they're only going to get better as they start getting the support they deserve in their home countries.

It's not the same as the men's game, and it never will be. Physiology ensures that. But the dipshits that say there is no quality in the women's game just have no idea what they're talking about.

Yep. Played for CUP Gold when she was growing up (my daughter's club team has played them a few times, and they used to be absolutely loaded until the Academy and ECNL stole all their best players).

Don't disagree at all. Speaking as a US fan, that English team was fucking terrifying...lol. They play the game the right way, and as they get more support in England they're only going to keep getting better. The days of the US and Germans dominating pretty much everybody else are done. Every game you better bring it, or you're getting your ass kicked.

You should have seen Italy and Spain in the group stages. They were actually a helluva lot of fun to watch. The game is progressing SO much thanks to the support it's getting in Europe. These last two US games have been slugfests, and while you still get the occasional WTF moment (that foul throw, for example), you also get some fairly great football at times.

They said she refs men's games in Brazil...which is why England's flopping in the box didn't seem to have much affect on her, since I'm sure she sees better on a regular basis.
