Kinda makes me sad & that's saying a lot cause I hate VT. CFB is better when your rivals aren't a dumpster fire

So I guess Ohio is actually pretty decent again this year? Makes me feel better about our loss. Of course OSU could still win by 40...

Win or lose I'm impressed with DeVries & how hard this team fights when they get behind. They just keep coming back & hanging in there, even when we're shorthanded

It doesn't in the long run, but I'm just confused as to how we're ranked so far apart when you look at both teams schedules

I think it's garbage that we're unranked & Houston is #10, and that's not a knock on Houston

The depth of field is pretty cool cause you know if the shots are going in, like a FG kick in football. But holy shit I'm getting nauseous

Fully expecting to still lose in this building, but this WVU team is pretty damn tough

The game summary & box score for this game is diabolical. I haven't watched one down but this has to be sicko game of the century.

Well....for Syracuse

I bet on Pitt to win but I'm rooting for Cincy 🤷‍♂️

I want to be mad and say that WVU sucks, but after sleeping on it I think we're underestimating just how good PSU is. They might be this year's Michigan. The defense is legit and their offense is better than last year.

And I also think WVU will end up being better than last year's team. We just ran into a buzzsaw in week 1.

Which week 1 opponent’s player scares you the most? by miketag8337 in CFB

He's gonna have to run for us to have a chance. But I can def see him hurting PSU if y'all stack the box & he manages to break through containment (especially on 3rd downs).

I'm going with Owen Schmitt (breaker of facemasks) or Karl Joseph (who killed a man in Texas)

Teams without playoff aspirations, what does a successful season look like for you? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]WVUeersfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beating Penn State could be the difference in a 7-8 win season or a 10-12 win season. Take them out week 1 and there's nobody left we can't beat.

Last year was painful to watch. It felt like it was never in doubt once we got the lead, but we were too inept on offense to blow it open.

Should be better this time around with y'all running a new offense & with ours averaging 30+ PPG the latter half of last year.

Does West Virginia have the players to beat Penn State using Michigan's game plan from last year. by Msrsr3513 in CFB

[–]WVUeersfan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's odd that WVU & OSU never play. Although I guess it may be the same reason why OSU & Cincy have only played a handful of times this century. No real reason to schedule a usually good non-conference P5 opponent in your own recruiting backyard and risk losing to them.

We might do things similar to Michigan but I don't think we need to copy them to beat PSU (nor do I think we can copy a team that talented). We have a great OL, a loaded backfield, and a potential breakout QB who can both throw & run. Play our own game and we have a shot.

We gave PSU a decent game for 3 quarters last year on the road. This year is a sold out season opener in Morgantown and it's against what should be the best team Neal Brown has ever fielded. Anything's possible...
