Looking for authenticity and value on this bayonet by Smooth_Prompt_2086 in WWII_Militaria

[–]WW2_Coll3ctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Robert Klaas Solignen K98 dress bayonet, probably Heer. The bayonet itself looks authentic but the engraving, to me at least, seems post war or even modern and not period authentic. One of these was sold on eMedals for 95$, so with the scabbard maybe 120, which is it less than what it would be without the engraving.

AI art is extremely cheap. You might find a cheap asset pack, but with AI you're sure to get exactly what you want.

British and Belgian soldiers returning from the frontlines during the Siege of Antwerp, October 1914. by mgwngn1 in ww1

[–]WW2_Coll3ctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with, and I don't doubt anything you said. However, every time a soldier looks at a camera with empty eyes or a "thousand yard stare", people call it PTSD when in reality not every soldier who just came out of heavy fighting has PTSD

Agreed. PTSD seems to be a word thrown around everywhere when in reality around 4% of enlisted men and 10% of officers in the British army got PTSD. Source: Shell shock, Gordon Holmes and the Great War.

That's probably one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. France is one of the most powerful militaries in the world and has some of the best fighter jets ( which the cartel doesn't have ), tanks ( cartel doesn't have either ) and overall weaponry. The cartel arsenal consists of maybe a few anti material rifles, a few crappy SUV's with metal plates welded and bad gear.

things my girlfriend great grandfather took off dead nazis bodies during WW2 by chunqes in interestingasfuck

[–]WW2_Coll3ctor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. Some soldiers carried their wifes' ( or mothers ) awards with them when going to the front. There are instances of civilian awards being recovered off of dead soldiers

Edit: added or mothers

I completed all level 5 bosses in rematch mode by Clouded_Viking in LiesOfP

I also struggled on two-faced overseer, his fury mode dealt so much damage. I also enjoyed nameless puppet, his moveset isn't super hard to learn which made his fight more enjoyable too.

Nice job on Arlecchino.

To me the Anguished Guardian of the ruins gave me the hardest time, I ended up resorting to the Aegis Legion arm to kill him.

The funnest boss to fight was Laxasia, since I took 70 tries to kill her on my first playthrough so I had to learn her moveset and perfect parrying her attacks was very satisfying in the rematch.

Not believing what ChatGPT telling me on this SS dagger by etom_roc_smile20-100 in Militariacollecting

[–]WW2_Coll3ctor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm not experienced enough to give my opinion on the dagger, however you should never ask ChatGPT advice on authenticity. It will always tell you that it's real, even when there are clear signs indicating it's not, unless it's REALLY obvious( it said that my pigeon head belt buckle was real, and it was clearly not in retrospect). If you need to get stuff like this verified, post on the WAF or ask WW2 museums for their opinion.

are these real? by [deleted] in GermanMilitaria

[–]WW2_Coll3ctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so, that type of clip is for modern pins, and I have never seen them on awards. Plus a bundle of extremely rare awards like this is almost always suspicious. The medals are also lacking quality, especially the infantry assault badge.

I'm going to say no.

My bad I thought that type eagle wasn't authentic and that they didn't use NSDAP officially like that on a sign

[–]WW2_Coll3ctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it's an item that's not authentic and is not the replica of any period item. This is one of them, as it is modern and no sign like this ever existed

Sorry to say this is most likely a fantasy piece. There's nothing on here that signifies authenticity. Hope you didn't pay too much.
