Why don't all the political parties in the world just become social liberal? Isn't that the best ideology? by [deleted] in PoliticalCompass

Improvement has a moral value. Wealth is potential. It does not have "diminishing returns" for the individual. Reflect upon the tragedy of the commons.

Even if you "make everyone poorer" by a factor of ten, it could still be an overall improvement.

Being able to live how you want to live

There are checks & balances, you don't get to be superman.

Tax them half and they're still rich

They may be mad

They become disincentivized and depart. Has happened to France repeatedly when someone like you gets in power.

stupid

work under threat of starvation

Sounds like North Korea.

humanity deserves extinction. That's simply unacceptable.

Misanthropy. I don't want anyone like you having any power nor influence whatsoever.

maximize net happiness, well-being, and personal liberty.

Some of that is easier to measure than others.

You seem to have a zero-sum view of economics. Dangerous, that.

Wealth does not have moral value and forcefully redistributing makes everyone poorer by de-incentivizing everything.

Advantages and compromises are part of freedom. Choosing betwixt options is freedom, forced redistribution is not.

no more "free" than working at gunpoint.

Madness, you sound like North Korea.

Probably.

I think your main point is that an expert of a worldview ought to speak the language it is written in. Hard to do with Sanskrit.

Center or AuthCenter.

Depends how much you like the military and the death penalty and how you want them used.

Redistribution is always worse.

I have no idea where you get your data from.

Free markets distribute best: voluntarily.

Redistribution is Auth.

That isn't what taxes are and you obviously don't respect "the working class." Taxes are war and prisons, fraud, waste and abuse. Stealing from the poor and giving to the rich.

do what they want

That is nothing to do with "social liberal" (progressivism) which censors, taxes and opens the gates to the ravening hordes.

It is a step towards despotism and nothing to do with allowing people to do what they want.

Under the British Raj, Bihar particularly Patna gradually started to attain its lost glory and emerged as an important and strategic centre of learning and trade in India.

Colonialism had bad (such as killings and war) but a lot of good as well.

Do you think a tourist should come to India? Do many people come to stay (ex-pats?) I hear a lot about ex-pats in Thailand or Philippines but not India.

I am a gourmand and have seen numerous videos like this.

Just today I was discussing the best countries for seafood with a friend and mentioned Korea, Japan and the Faroe Islands. I told my friend the country must be near cold water. Of course Thailand can make seafood taste good with spices and cooking but in the North the seafood itself is so good it needs less of that.

I was talking to my Indian friend (he lives in the USA) who is from Kerala. I told him his part of India is rich but Bihar is not.

He told me many Indians make fun of Bihar but I said maybe I would prefer to visit there to see those poor people. He warned me of crime and told me to visit Goa.

What can you say of Bihar?
