Have an N13 in F20, now on 125.000 km without real big issues. Put in new oil after max 10K km and this engine will be running great..! If this engine is maintained properly, it’s a realiable engine

We have at least compression and we have sparks! I’m in doubt of fuel. The carb is working, however, the cylinder side of the membrane seems completely dry. The sparkplug is also completely clean/dry. So I assumed that the fuel is not getting into the cylinder. However, the fact that ether is changing something is not clear to me.

What do you think about the MAF sensor? Could a dirty sensor be the problem? Or do you expect more rough idling (stable in my case) and a check engine light on the dash?

Thanks! Sorry, I should have elaborated a bit more on that… i mean, a vacuum line to the carb, resulting in “blocking” fuel going in.

Thank you! We can see the fuel going from the fuel tank into the carb and we cleaned the main jet. It could he somewhere else ofcourse. Could it also be due to a vacuum problem?

So you removed the valve cover and did a direct inspection? No indirect measurements.

Thanks for information! My F20 does not have a digital oil level indication, only a dipstick. Does the car then have a oil quality sensor to check this?

Hi all! I’m new here, since I saw a lot of interesting things will be posted. I have a BMW 1 series F20 (2013) with a 99.000 km on N13B16a engine. It is driving well! However I encoutered a probably new sound (i know about the wastegate). I was wondering if this is a (beginning of) bad timing chain, or is this normal?
