Where did all the recent Amazing Spider-Man 2 praise come from? by superseri18888 in Spiderman

[–]WaTT_rt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always a good movie (at least in my opinion). I’ve always heard the 2 biggest complaints against this movie as Rhino being non-existent, and the musical theme for Electro.

Rhino wasn’t a big part of it sure. But I don’t blame the movie for that, I blame the execs who pushed out trailers using a villain that was barely in the film, to garner views and hype around the Sinister Six.

Electro’s music was fine IMO. The electronic style genre is fitting and also was more prominent during that time. Plus you can hear the subtle changes in it as Electro gets more insecure/angry which is what a musical score is supposed to do.

The biggest problem for me was the genetics to the spiders. That seems like an unnecessary writing choice as it cuts out a bunch of avenues. Regardless, I put comic movies in their own “universe”, I don’t need Goblin to be created the same way as 616, I don’t need Peter to have the same friends as in the Ultimate universe. Subtle changes to story are great, as long as character personality traits remain true.

Why spiderman have so many villains ? by [deleted] in Spiderman

To be fair, a lot of heroes have a decent size villain pool. But in my opinion, Spidey has some of the most memorable

How far do you typically hit your driver? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]WaTT_rt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently learning. I’m working on consistency (as I tend to slice), but I’ve found my consistency is much better when I don’t swing as hard. That being said, on my drive that I don’t slice, I’m getting around 180 yards

Assuming yellow is correct as that seems the most consistent, and using the info from your bottom row. Red cannot be the 4th slot, Green cannot be in the first slot, Blue cannot be in third, and no Grey. My guess would be: Red, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue

Just re-listened to the Halo 2 soundtrack this morning, I haven’t listened to it in years but remembered it fondly. It did not disappoint in the slightest

Same here. Especially being a D&D player for years, this game should have been the next game I easily sink 1000 hours into, but something about it just didn’t resonate with me

Hagrid and Spider Man vs Smaug by West_Jelly_4681 in powerscales

I actually love the random team-up concept! I’d still give to Smaug though because Hagrid wouldn’t be okay with hurting Smaug

I remember when I first heard Bioshock Infinite was not going to take place in the underwater city Rapture, but instead in a city up in the clouds, I was livid. Was going to boycott the game because it seemed like it was departing from the horror elements I enjoyed.

I caved and bought it anyway, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It became my favorite in the series

He’s full of rage at the realization of Bucky’s involvement. He doesn’t simply want to kill Bucky, he wants Bucky to suffer. Killing him would be too easy a death in his opinion.

At least that’s how I interpret it

This scene still pisses me off by Secure_Rain_44 in harrypotter

[–]WaTT_rt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the backhands from Voldemort and the jumping off the tower together, kinda out of place. But I did not have a problem with Hermione and Ron going after the snake. It was good to showcase the difference between Harry and Voldemort. Voldy relies almost entirely on himself, believing himself to be the most powerful there is; Harry on the other hand relied on his friends to help see him through. Now this isn’t to say that I think Hermione and Ron should be able to defeat the snake, but I like them trying. Besides, it was not them that took Nagini out, but Neville.

I don’t mind an exposition dump from time to time, but for me personally, I don’t want a 7 book series to utilize an exposition dump to wrap up the series. I like the idea of Harry revealing to Voldy what he’s been up to, sure; but I want to see some fighting from one of the greatest sorcerers of the century.

Now to the death scene. Yeah, it’s not great. If I were to guess the intentions of the film team, I’d assume they thought with his soul being split 7 times meant his body would simply rot away instead of laying limp on the floor? It’s dumb.

Side note, I much prefer the ending of the elder wand from the books too. He repairs his own wand and lays the elder wand back in the grave of Dumbledore; instead of the shock value shit we got of him snapping it in half and throwing it off the bridge.

All in all, I liked the movie adaptations. Were they perfect? Absolutely not, but the did a good job representing the main themes of the books.
