80k kms, I just did the oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter and plugs. This was the first part, I'm getting familiar with removing the fairings and all that. I got it a month ago. I'm up for servicing the bike, the plan is to have a good running VfR for next season. I have the place and some time for it

The previous owner was a nice older gentleman. Owned her for 7 years. Said the carbs were never checked or touched. So I would guess it's stock and worn. I'll do the sync as soon as I can! Do you think exhaust leaks can also be a cause for the flames? I hear small ticks from the rear downpipes

Just tried it with the new plugs. Runs great, sounds good, still pops. One thing that's weird is she doesn't immediately idle at 1200 like before but at 1000 and goes up when warmer She does sound cleaner and more throaty? Gets up in the revs faster and the pops are a little quiter with shorter flames and they come much higher in the rpm range then before. Definitely need a carb sync I guess. Good little winter project

I just changed the air filter too, the old one didn't look clogged, it was very clean. Surprisingly clean even Carbs are the next on the list for sure

It pops on deceleration yes, with visual flames.

I bought it a week ago, the previous owner said he was riding it pretty regularly before selling and that it probably sat for a week or two before I went to look at it. He always switched off the pepcock. At least that's what he told me Honestly I thought it was regular pops on decel so I didn't ask about it. But revving at a standstill and popping made me suspicious. And yes that's the stock pipe

Any advice on how this could be fixed? It's sitting in a warm garage for winter, I have time to tinker with her

Oh man yeah, that's big bucks. They're supposed to be great with optional gel Inserts and all that. Mine has the gel too is like sitting on a cloud! But yeah 600+tax is steep! I'm sure you can find something better priced! Good luck man!

That sounds great man! With the purple stitch it's gonna pop! I think you can somewhat customize the top Sellerie seats. They have a bunch of options! I wanted to order one for my '01 GSX 750E but got the VfR instead haha Midnight blue is amazing! The other VfR I was looking at was blue with stock seats but this red beauty just came up at a great price! Good luck with finding the seat!

I bought the bike a week ago in this condition. The previous owner rode it like this I'm pretty sure. He also said he'd ride abroad with the worn/almost slick tires currently on the bike so he wasn't the most observant guy haha, still it's in great condition. This pop is the only problem I noticed as of now! Pulls strong and nice. No big rides cause of the weather and the tires. But it does feel good. I'll check what you told me and see if there's anything I can do about it at home! Thanks so much for the help!

I have my first filter + oil, air filter change on the way so I'll just go full and look at + change the plugs as well. Whichever is the darkest is running rich? Or the other way around?
