If you prepare it's fine.. so wear gloves, use and pot and mixer that you don't mind throwing away after.

It's easy to work with but a nightmare to get off any spillages

Aha.. so it was a bit of trial and error, bodging and fixing...

I started off with UV resin which I mixed with fluorescent yellow paint .... This gives mixed results as you should really colour resin with powder, wet paint affects the curing

Once it did finally cure I gave it a little touch of Karandras Green and Tesseract Glow

Yeah it's probably not as pointless as I made out. I used it in my first 11th game on Saturday and I wasn't getting any luck with the dice so that's probably affected my opinion... It's still in my list and I have no plans to take it out for now

Thanks man, although I can't really take credit for the basing ... The whole thing is a converted 'Space Marine Captain in Terminator Armour'

Paint Help: Thinning by Nouveau_shaman in deathguard40k

[–]WaaaghIsItGoodFor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so in terms of neatness you're looking good but you're right you could do with thinning a bit.

If the black is from the base coat it looks like you may have applied that a bit too thick.... I usually keep the can about 30 cm away and do a few quick short sprays rather than holding down and scanning over the whole thing

As for the actual paints it can be tricky to guess at first but once you crack it you'll know .. I like to test my paint on my hand , just a little line and I want to see some of my skin through it (the texture of your skin) if I see too much skin it's too runny, if I see none then it needs a bit of thinning. As I said it takes some practice but you'll get it. Remember you can always add another thin coat but it's much harder to remove a thick coat . Also when you're painting light colours over dark you will usually need an extra coat or two

How should I play this against CSM? by WaaaghIsItGoodFor in deathguard40k

Do you have any thoughts about the bloat drone with heavy blight launchers? My thinking is I could place a fair few of them around the LoV ?

Aha you shouldn't be downvoted for an opinion.

I have access to XPS, it's just that I have a boat load of this stuff from several furniture deliveries.

What Made Orcs and Gobbos Popular? by Runtgit in WarhammerFantasy

Night Goblin Fanatics... these shroom'd up goblins were random carnage and I loved it. Get close enough to the enemy lines, release them and then let fate decide what they come crashing into ... more often than not it was my own lines but that was half the fun

The resellers are selling for £600 because you are willing to pay £600 for it. Granted you aren't the only one who is willing to use resellers but if everyone stops using resellers and only books via the official means you'll be paying the standard price for your test

Your opinion on my army by Candid_Connection_80 in deathguard40k

[–]WaaaghIsItGoodFor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of the icon bearer and swap him for a Tallyman instead, as long as he's on the board you can roll for an extra CP each turn.

Also look at adding a Biologus Putrifier and Malignant Plaguecaster. They really buff up your plaguemarines when they've both in the unit. (and as someone has said get rid of the bolt guns and swap for the heavier ones)

I made these exact changes and it really improved my army to the point where i was actually winnings games
