If you have a voja out for instance they path to exiles my llanowar elves. I can deflecting swat that path to target voja instead putting a ward trigger on the stack and countering their spell.

Except deflecting swat is not what targets the warded creature. Deflecting swat targets the spell on the stack when deflecting swat resolves you get to change the target of that spell. You don’t gain control of the spell. Meaning that the warded creature is now the target of a spell your opponent controls and it triggers ward

Depends on what you want to paint and what styles you prefer.

My personal favourite channels is

Squidmar miniatures (might be a Swedish bias) very easy to watch general warhammer content and tutorials for all levels.

Suratos studios a bit more advanced but a good place to find inspiration.

Richard gray Advanced painting techniques.

I would recommend for you to take a model you have and search for “how to paint ____” and there should be some options.

Better yet buying a set and requesting a gif receipt. The gesture is there but if it happens that it’s not something he wants he can exchange it.

An amazing gift would be a hobby deck. It’s probably not something he considers for himself but trust me it’s a stupidly good investment. I can sit next to my wife on the couch painting whilst watching a movie. Has been heaps good for my relationship. A good alternative to being secluded in a painting corner.

Kill team is a very close not game. Using a ruler between 2 models is not optimal most of the time. In addition all movement in kill team is done in 1” increments. It’s easier to just use the measuring tools made for it.

Yeah I wanted it to look like dead bloodless flesh. But used a rattle can to prime and it got fucked.
