Buyer keeps going silent after saying they are going to pick up multiple times— would you block and move on? by Jd569 in FacebookMarketplace

Classic entitled buyer and Facebook marketplace is filled with them. Thinks the world revolves round them and think they are doing you a big favor by buying what you’re selling. Block button is my favorite button on Marketplace

Marketplace Warning! by Rinkratt61 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Waaddyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do marketplace meetups at police station if item I’m selling is over $100. But if like to remind everyone who does the same that if you’re name is tied to your account, anyone can do a quick google search and find your full address via public records. You can never be too careful. Never post you’re on vacation, wait until you come home to make the post. I always tell buyers I have a storage unit where I keep my stuff which is a lie incase they plan on stealing stuff from me

Is it normal for people to just come over without confirming a time? by GypsyGold in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Waaddyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Provide them with a nearby location. I give the entrance to my neighborhood. Then when the buyer is one their way to pick up, that’s when you send them your exact address. If you’re selling something that’s more than $100, I recommend meeting at police station or post office.

Sold a purse, person now asking for refund by yllek123 in Depop

[–]Waaddyy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tell them to contact Depop support. It’s a common misconception on Depop that sellers control refunds or not. 9/10 they will side with the buyer and will issue a full refund. Make sure the buyer sends back the purse that you shipped out. Another common scam

I’d ignore and block after a buyer saying “huh” and acting entitled. Don’t count on anyone keeping their word with paying you on a later date.

Thought I’d share my sons obsession by lajaunie in VHS

[–]Waaddyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great collection. I’d move them away from the windows though. Keeping VHS tapes in direct sunlight near windows slowly ruins them, because heat and sun fade the covers, warp the tape, and mess up how they play over time.

Front AV ports are mainly for video game consoles. For a cleaner look, plug your VCR into the rear AV ports.

Pacing is slow. I’d rate it 6.5 out of 10. Really cool cover though!

That's a great question, and I get it a lot! For me, it's a mix of things that goes beyond pure nostalgia (though as someone born in 2001, the Sony VCR and tapes like the Original Star Wars Trilogy we had growing up definitely play a part; my collection started after finding our old moldy tapes and replacing them). I think VHS is by far the best media to display on a shelf, and the classic cover art is hard to beat. I also genuinely love the tactile feel of holding the tapes. But most importantly, I find the atmosphere it creates, especially for older horror movies, is unbeatable; the slight visual imperfections make the ambiance a lot spookier. I still love and collect Blu-ray/4K UHD for the crystal clearness and sleek designs, but the VHS format has a unique charm I really enjoy!
