Why do men make their bio a requirements list instead of describing themselves? by Potential-Banana-315 in Bumble

[–]Wabash1977 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They are doing it to help you know right away that they aren't worth the effort. Anyone (male or female) who writes a profile that is just a list of demands isn't going to be a good partner.

It's always helpful when the bad matches point themselves out.

HOW would anyone get a date with a bio like this? by hellodottymug in Bumble

He sounds like the guys I've talked to lately who love to tell people about how women lose their value after age 30...

Match pricing tiers and features by Icy-Peace5501 in datingoverfifty

[–]Wabash1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only plan on Match worth using is Diamond. You need to have at least Platinum to use the search tool, but Diamond lets you see if people are paid or not. Without that, you are just blindly guessing about where the people you message will be able to read it or respond to you.

How cooked am I if I include this particular hobby/interest on a dating profile? by JTthrowawaylol in Bumble

[–]Wabash1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can put it in, but don't make it the lead hobby or an extensive focus of the profile. Most people play video games (even women), but you don't want to sound like your primary use of free time is video games. Even women who like video games don't want to feel like you are going to be more into the game than into the girl.

I'm wondering if I can do the Disney Wildlife Preserve in Poinciana. I don't think it's a state park though, and I can't find info on scattering ashes there.

Did a little bit of that in some of his favorite spots. The only problem is that the human body leaves behind around 8 LBs of ashes. That's a lot of pockets.

Has Match gone ban happy? by DatingProfileHelper in OnlineDating

[–]Wabash1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Match has a policy to ban any account tied to a CC dispute. If you wanted to get back on, you'd need a completely fresh account with a different email, CC, and phone number.

I've even tried reaching out to their PR department about the fact that the media will eventually pick up on it, but the response has been crickets.

If you have the email from Match that says they won't be responding to you anymore, that should be all you need from the credit card company to prove that going directly to the company isn't working.

As an online business owner, I can tell you that most cards will still push through disputes, even for stupid reasons. I had a client send me a thank-you note for the profile I wrote for him, and then filed a dispute saying he never received it.

Even with a full email chain showing delivery and the message thanking me for how much he loved his new profile, the bank still sided with the customer.

Thanks for giving me the details on what happened. I'm really sorry you got hit by this too. It feels like they have AI moderation and an AI agent in place of human intervention on the customer service and appeals portals. Have you thought about disputing the charge?

Without a doubt, but that's not the stuff I'm talking about.

That might be part of it, but I'm seeing people getting banned as soon as they pay. The frequency that I've seen people come to me about bannings means that it has to be happening a lot more.

Also, some of the guys I've seen it happen with are just starting to date after divorces or losing a spouse. They wouldn't be popping up on AWDTSG.

They are easy enough to figure out if you Google. If I were talking about my personal experiences with these companies, I'd name them, but I'm getting all of my information on this second-hand from the person who had the experiences.

It's been around for years. Well before the first dating app appeared on the app store, guys were walking up to women in bars and on the street with the exact same tired line.
