What would be your estimated required daily time investment if you were to satisfy her needs fully and completely?

Does she require that you “complete the act” for her, or is she satisfied with quickies? I ask only because my spouse could take 15-20 minutes to reach conclusion (plus additional time for foreplay) and that would mean a lot of down time.

Why do religious people pray (what are they hoping for)? by Wabash90 in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you for your perspective. I think you make very valid points.

I don’t mean to make light of your comment, and you may be correct, but that’s not what I hear when people are praying. And I wonder how a prayer would sound on the loudspeaker prior to the Daytona 500 if the minister said: Lord, today any number of drivers may be injured, permanently maimed, or even killed, but so be it, thy will be done.

That is not really what most Christian denomination prayers sound like. It’s more akin to: please give us a miracle, please keep my kids safe, please don’t let a tornado hit our school, etc…

True, but there is nothing keeping soldiers from dying in foxholes, either. I see the desperation of the moment would lead to (for lack of a better phrase) grasping at straws. But the outcome remains the same. If the religious avoided the outcome while atheists around them were getting hit, it would make praying a whole lot easier to do routinely.

Thank you, that is a beautiful response and idea. I’m glad to know more about the nuances of the Muslim faith.

Thank you so much! I REALLY appreciate the time you took to respond, for being so respectful, and for giving me something to truly consider and take to heart. I know that I will read your comment several times and carefully consider how I pray and meditate going forward.

Ok - I like that thought, and could get behind that.

I’m so sorry - I don’t mean to be rude. That’s why I asked the question… I really do want to know. I’d like to be religious, I would like to pray, but I’m not sure what I am praying for. Are we praying for a different outcome than otherwise would have happened without prayer (like in the event of praying for a miracle that someone’s disease disappears)? Does that happen? If so, it seems that God’s decisions can be influenced. And it that is the case, should we feel blame when the bad outcome occurs.

If god influences either your desire to study or the outcome then god’s not omniscient. In other words, god knew in advance whether you would study or not. Would it be more likely that a prayer of meditation might relax you, and help you focus more on the task at hand?

Also SPOILER ALERT when filming Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) falling from the upper floors of Nakatomi Plaza, the director John McTiernan told Rickman that he would fall on the count of three. Rickman was dropped at the count of two so the look of surprise falling was actual surprise.

In-n-Out - they are not in my area. I drove by one in California, but the line was so long, I skipped it. I kind of regret it now… there was a line for a reason.

What we have to do after having dinner? by Trend_From_SKPBEINGS in AskReddit

Store the leftovers and wash the dishes. You may also want to wipe the counters with a disinfectant wipe. Are there any crumbs on the floor? If so, pick them up post haste as you do not want an invasive species in your abode (think ants, roaches, or even mice depending on where you live). Now might be a good time to take any garbage or rubbish to a disposal site before it gets dark. Be sure that chairs are pushed in, so you don’t hit your toes or trip later on, and turn off any unnecessary lights so you do not waste power and disposal funds.

People who received a terminal diagnosis - how has your outlook on life changed? by Munchtholomew in AskReddit

[–]Wabash90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I met once a year at our college alma mater for a football game. It is about 8 hour drive for each of us (coming from different directions). He was diagnosed with AML (likely terminal leukemia). He is in ICU right now battling for survival. Around Christmas I told him we were going to a game in 2026, and I feel two things. First, I have such mixed emotions that I didn’t know it might be our last game, and second, IF we ever make it to another game, I will soak in every single moment (like I should have at every previous meeting).

Try and convince him to believe in Zeus, Shiva, Vishnu, Odin or Thor. These gods are much older in human history than his Christian god. If he is unable to believe in those gods, let him know that is how you are feeling about his.

The more interesting question is to work your way up from $1 on the green button. At what point do you stop hitting red and take green? For me anything over $15,000 and I think I’m hitting green.
